Former BenchWarmers employees strip TVs, fixtures from defunct sports bar

...Former BenchWarmers employees from at least one location are taking the situation into their own hands. They are taking everything from TVs to other fixtures to beer and liquor from the Erie location as compensation.

This was approved by managers who still have not been paid.
9NEWS Reporter Matt Flener found out the V.P. of Operations, Sheri Ferral, gave permission to the staff to sell and give away items from the store to pay employees.

"It's like Robin Hood," said former Benchwarmers area director Tim Watts. "We are trying to take from the rich and give to the poor."

...Employees said their paychecks have bounced over the past two months or so. Some say they are having trouble paying their bills.

Well, I guess that's one way.

However, I must also say...If you had a paycheck "bounce" two months ago and continued to work at the place...That doesn't exactly make you the brightest light-bulb on the strand.

I have never understood that. If they bounce your paycheck for two months, what the hell makes the employee think they are ever going to get paid?

Perhaps trying to find someone more responsible who is willing to invest in the property would be a better strategy? You just might get your job back.

What will anybody gain in the long run by looting the place!

ERIE, Colo.—A Broomfield-based restaurant chain abruptly closed three of its Colorado restaurants and canceled plans to open 17 others after its CEO was arrested on an unknown parole violation. It wasn't immediately clear on Friday what 47-year-old Kevin R. Foote was arrested for Wednesday in Boulder County.

I'd be willing to bet the employees will be at the very end of the line when it comes to the courts selling off assets. They'd better take what they can get now.

"unknown parole violation"? You're right...They'll never see a dime.
