and for which rooms.....?
I am painting some of the rooms in my house this week.....

Kitchen .. white with colour trim.. white cupboards, white floor, white walls, white ceiling.. I like to cook in an open airy atmosphere.
Kitchen: Bright, true red, with white cabinets. Super cool and retro. If your kitchen is small and you choose a bright color, paint only two of the four walls, paint the other two white.
Guest bathroom: Bright, bold, blue and then lighthouse and ship decorations. REALLY happy with the way this turned out. Very nautical.
Kid's rooms: Alexa's is pink and light green. Pink on top, white chair rail and grenn on the bottom. Very, very girly.
TJ's room is bright green, well, two walls are anyway. Then, I put up (ok, really, my Dad did it when he was here for Christmas, my husband helped, I supervised) a border near the ceiling. It's primary colors and has little buildings, airplanes and cars. It's really is pretty cute. When my mom was here, we made curtains for both the kid's rooms.
The front room is a really warm camel color, with bright white crown molding. This is our most "formal" space in the house. We have the pool table and the fancy barstools and the buffet and what not in there. When we host a holiday, we put an inset into the pool table, cover it with a table cloth, voila, instant (huge) table. It also serves as my "sewing room" since the table is so big and good for cutting patterns and laying out fabric.
We have yet to pant our bedroom, right now it is the most hideous brown color have ever seen. call it "baby shit brown" because it's exactly the same color as most of TJ's poopy diapers. I don;t know what the previous owner was thinking. All I can think of is that since her kids are older, she just didn;t remember that this is what baby poop looks like. But, it's really nasty.
When we DO paint it, we're going with a soft, grayish blue. I was going to put crown molding and a chair rail in there, but since we're now just painting so it will show well when we sell it, I'll skip the extra work and expense.
My husband's office is, get this, lavender. IRI would love it. It was this way when we bought the house. We're going to use up the rest of the red paint, and some white paint and make it presentable. ;D His bathroom also needs to be painted. These people were wallpaper crazy, and I'm putting off that room because I can't stand the steaming and scraping. ;D
Lets's see, if we were staying here, I would paint the guest room yellow or sky blue, maybe both. The playroom would get some primary colors, maybe a mural on the wall. The hallways would all get something, maybe off white and crown molding. But, as it is, we plan to slap a coat of white paint on those rooms and call it a day. Right now, the playroom has mirrors and bars on three walls. She was a ballet dancer and that was her home studio. I like the mirrors, keeps the baby entertained and I can sit at the table sewing or scrapbooking and still see what they are doing just by glancing up.
When we move, I'll be back for some advice on how to decorate that house. ;D

Interesting answers....
I have to sell the house, so I have pretty much settled on creams and light beiges.....We have a lot of greens and yellows in the house already as well. My daughter's room is soft blue with a horsie theme....sort of wild west.....She even has a stable for her 2 ft high horse which goes with her Nez Perce doll....including elaborate teepee and such....
The kitchen I would love to paint as the person who rented the house while we were in Japan painted it what I call dead silly-putty tan.....it makes me think of the pancake makeup they use for corpses.....yuck! But, it is too labor intensive for me at the moment....

I like Ben Moore, too.
My rather large kitchen was white everything ... cabs, trim, doors, floor, appliances ... I felt like I was in an antisceptic hospital.
I painted the walls a pale banana yellow (no hints of gold or green,) trim & doors high gloss white to match cabs & then brought in what I call "whimsy."
Now I have little splotches of muted/dusty colors as chotchkies all over.
It is SO much nicer. The old was just too bland and boring.

Ah, as a Realtor, I would tell you that your instincts are right on.
All as neutral as you can get it.
You can get away w/ a bit of color in the kids BR's but if the designer colors you pick do not appeal to the potential buyer, you could lose the sale.
Neutral is safer.
IM me if you want some other (inexpensive) recommendations for dressing your house to sell.

2005 will be the year of the rooster (or the chicken, depending on how one views these things).....hmmmm/ does this portend well?hmmmm/
2006 is the year of the dog....my kind of year! that and the year of the horse.....of course, I am a sheep, wouldn't you know it.....shy, but quaint.

I'll let you slide this time. But if you want to end our pact just let me know. I don't mean to put you under so much pressure.
And don't listen to Becca. I am always an angel when it comes to rips. http://deephousepage.com/smilies/rasta.gif

How about a pact that we will be there as a support for each other, regardless of our mood at the moment, if there is to be a new one made......

Well our old pact never went away as far as I am concerned.
But if we can draw up a new pact that involves WKS then I am all for it.
Maybe then she will police you better when I am not around :P
