"To create social and political chaos, thereby forcing the U.S. Government to declare martial law, an act, typical of homegrown terrorists, minded towards the violent overthrow of the government by the American people."

LanceALott: You should read my unpublished novel "The Proud Eagle Option." Only five copies were made on February 5, 1997. They carry the mark "Top Secret."

I understand one copy made its way to the Southern Poverty Law Center of Moris Dees. Your above quotation is precisely my plot, and it leads directly to the published novel "A Journey of 220 Miles" That can be purchased at most online book stores.

Yukon, there are far more miliitant leftists in this country than there are militant conservatives. The envori-wackos and the animal rights-wackos primarily come to mind.

Don't worry about America turning into a "Christian" version of the Taliban. It's just not going to happen.

Perhaps we need to have a discussion about what constitutes sentient life. Obviously, even intelligent people are somewhat confused on this issue. ;)

Personally, I think everyone is blowing completely out of proportion the value of life, especially when it comes to another's life. It's not anyone's business to sit here and judge what's morally right for another. You don't agree with it? Way cool. Shut the fuck up about it.

These past two decades have seen the rise within the Republican Party of extreme right and Christian fundamentalist elements, many of them linked to an underground of racists, militia fanatics and anti-abortion activists.

~~~~~~~~
Not the republican party ... the mititant right wingers who align themselves more withing the conservative/republican political structure.
It is no different than the extreme left wingers who align themselves with the liberal/democratic party.
The diametrically opposed groups not only are different from each other but also different from the mainstream of their political affiliated party's mainstream. ~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~

There is a history of rightist elements seeking to obtain anthrax for use as a weapon of terror. In 1998, a microbiologist with ties to white supremacist groups was arrested in Las Vegas on charges of unauthorized possession of an anthrax strain that turned out to be non-lethal. In 1999 FBI Director Louis Freeh said that "a growing number, while still small, of ‘lone offender’ and extremist splinter elements of right-wing groups have been identified as possessing or attempting to develop or use weapons of mass destruction."

~~~~~~~~~~
Fundamentalist extremism whether promoting the rightest or leftist philosophy is still, nonetheless, terroristic.
That is, any group who promotes, especially as a first choice, violence, is to be considered terrorists. This goes fro the Islamists, our home grown white supremist aryan types, the radical pro lifers OR the left wing liberals who commit violence as modus operendi. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
According to a California-based centre that monitors such events, there were 172 false anthrax threats in the United States from January 1998 to April 2001. Of these, one third were made against abortion clinics. The current anthrax attacks have been accompanied by a barrage of threats against abortion clinics and Planned Parenthood offices throughout the United States – threats that have gone largely unreported in the media.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1/3 against abortion clinics ... TWO thirds, not. ;)

The media, to be sure, under reports MUCH which is wrong about the abortion issue, not the least of which is that MOST of the American public believes that abortion on demand, even in the first trimester IS morally wrong.

That said, Planned Parenthood is a great example of leftist/liberal terrorism ... violent fundamentalists who practice, on a daily basis, terrorist acts against the most vulnerable, the unborn ... not to mention the violence done upon a woman's body so that PP can make a buck. .... nay millions and billions of them.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Frequently, what does not appear in the American media is as significant as what does. It is as though the attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon blotted out the bloody experience with right-wing terrorism in America – the Unabomber, Oklahoma City, the Aryan Nations, abortion-related bombings and assassinations. If the anthrax attacks had taken place before September 11, the prime suspects would have been anti-abortion zealots or right-wing militia fanatics seeking to avenge the execution of Timothy McVeigh.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Not exactly precise, the media has reported that the anthrax culprit is more likely home grown and a rightist zealot.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While admitting that there is no concrete evidence of a connection to Islamic fundamentalists – let alone Iraq – the Bush administration implicitly encourages the belief that Middle East-based terrorists are responsible for the anthrax mailings.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think your premise is greatly flawed.

I AM an American, I am perfectly cognizant that it is more likely a home grown anti US government terrorist who is the greatest anthrax threat.

On the other hand, to suggest that the Islamic threat is wither not real or weverpresent simply because they are not the major ANTHRAX threat is disingenouous, not to mention dangerous.

The Islamic threat is real, ever present and does not begin OR END with anthrax.

so, WHAT's your point?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Those actually engaged in investigating the anthrax mailings, however, have been compelled to consider the likelihood of right-wing involvement, and a few hints have begun to creep into the newspaper coverage.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Perhaps it is a singularly American construct but Americans "don;t believe most of what they read and only half of what they see." ;)
To suggest that informed Americans rely on or take at complete face value, that which is vomited up by major media, sells us extremely short.
OF COURSE, we know this. ::) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On October 26, White House press spokesman Ari Fleischer declared that federal investigators had concluded that a skilled microbiologist with access to lab facilities could have produced the anthrax used in the mailings, without a vast military or government apparatus. The substance, he admitted, "could be produced by a broader range of people" than the foreign governments generally cited in media speculation – most frequently Iraq and the former Soviet Union.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Duh - uh. No kidding!

Americans are QUITE cognizant that our enemies are not limited to AlQuada, Iraq, homegrown militants... Russia, China etc.

Again, you place too much emphasis on our trust of American media ... and perhaps the musings of some Canadians. ;) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The statement points to the conclusion that the anthrax mailed to Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle’s office was either stolen from U.S. military stocks or supplied directly by U.S. military personnel with access to supplies.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Old OLD news my friend. This was disclosed shortly after the anthrax attacks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In any case, as surely we will see, it is far more likely that the anthrax was passed to militarily aligned American fascists than to Islamic fundamentalists.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Again ... Duh -uh!
Where have YOU been? We've known this for well over a year!
~~~~~~~~~~~~

The goal, at length? To create social and political chaos, thereby forcing the U.S. Government to declare martial law, an act, typical of homegrown terrorists, minded towards the violent overthrow of the government by the American people.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The "American" government has ceased to exist over a decade ago. IT HAS been taken over by globalists who see no need for sovereign borders, no need to protect our nation and allowed us to export our industry and resources and import the seeds of our destruction.
There will be another Revolution here and it will be done the American way ... that is a grass roots movement BY American government for and by the people thru the power of the vote.
The people who are in the Legislative, Judicial over the last 10-12 years, and even the current Executive branches have turned their backs on the constitution and ignored their constitutional mandate.
LOTS of Americans, not just your "extreme fundamentalist right wingers" are concerned AND ANGRY over the stewardship which has changed the fabric of our society and culture.
We WiLL take it back ..... without the help of the violent nuts.
