The family and I went to see a matinee of "The Thunderbirds". The critics are panning it...I would say injustly. (Perhaps they never saw the original...)
Anyhow...it's campy, over-the-top, riotious lines at the most "proper" of moments, and a weird creepy villian. Which is what the original kids show was.
If you grew up watching "The Thunderbirds", then this movie is actually a pretty decent Saturday afternoon diversion. Tracy Island is very close to how it was portraited in the original as well as the various Thunderbirds.
Anyhow, decent movie. The special effects are passable, the story is okay, and so is the acting. There is no out-right violence, so the movie is not too bad for kids either.
On another note...saw the preview for Pixar's next one, "The Incredibles". I am really really looking forward to that movie; looks like another one out of the park for the Pixar crew.
