View Full Version : More USA PATRIOT fun

The rush to enact programs with reassuring-sounding names may have been understandable a year ago. Now, however, it would be patriotic to consider whether, despite their appealing acronyms, some hastily enacted programs threaten the freedoms we value most.
What has changed in the last year? The terrorist threat went away?
It is peculiar, to say the least, for our government to fight terrorists by adopting their techniques—secrecy and intimidation.
It's not peculiar at all. In a conventional war, we'd adopt the enemies techniques just as readily, only more so - and that's what we should do here. The only problem comes when those tactics are applied against our own people as a means of grabbing power. I don't see that yet.

These new programs make it much easier for those abuses to happen. We are now on the proverbial slippery slope. You seem to like the idea of authority figures protecting us from ourselves, but I'm a freedom loving American patriot. I'm the only authority figure that I need to make my decisions.

Arod: The only problem comes when those tactics are applied against our own people as a means of grabbing power. I don't see that yet.
LaL: Maybe you don't see it because you ain't looking?
Yesterday in Colorado a lady mayor was convicted of filing a false police report. She is also a former stripper that some, not unlike Arod, were trying to run out of government.
The police report was because someone attacked her and tried to kill her, and the "good cops" and the "good prosecutor" in my opinion might have very well been a bunch of fascist pigs who did attack her, then finished the job in the court they controlled.
Colorado also has a politician they are trying to run off because he sent some sexually explicit email.
And last but not least Colorado has a school district where 14million dollars is missing. We can only guess if that money went to help finance the theft of the election in Florida?
Right now, the lunatic fringe of the right wing are in control of counting the votes, just like the Nazis were in Germany. Anyone who thinks we can get control of the decision making process through elections is stupid enough to be a liberal.

I salute your profound vision which, when it doesn't find what it looks for, is evidently able to create it on demand. ;D

Of course, when you can't send filth across the internet, it's a sure sign that the constitutional right to do so is in great jeapordy. ;)

If you have evidence the money helped fund the DNC's attempted theft of the 2K election, I'm sure we'd all be interested to see it. :)

ROFL!!! In over a year on debate forums, I've never read a post so boldly assertive, yet so comically devoid of substance. Fess up now, LAL: you're a GOP mole, right? :)

Sweetie arod doesn't look much beyond the end of his own nose, which he looks down at the rest of us for not being as stiff and uptight as him.

I've been on the internet 18 years.
Well, on the internet and its precusors for
18 years :) LAL's bold assertion has the
average amount of substance.
I knew this would happen when the 16th ammendment
was railroaded through letting the federal government
tax freely. Or was it that ammendment that let
women folk vote :)

Using aliases is also a crime. Just buy the books and always pay cash.
