Recently, there was some talk about women being vain.

So - my question is:

How vain are you?

How often do you look in a mirror in a day's time?
Do you have your hair cut professionally?
Do you wear drugstore makeup, or dept.store makeup?
Are you into name brand clothing?
Have you had your "colors" done?
Must your shoes, socks, and pants all match?
Have you had your teeth professionally whitened?

or are you more the kind that we just hope will remember to put on deoderant in the morning.?

How vain ARE you? ;D

I trim my toenails when they get excessively long sometimes.

LOL - that does not give many details, pony. :)

We've seen your photo - you're pretty cute. Bet'cha have a couple of push-up bras and something beside 'functional underwear'. Am I right? ;)

It's only disgusting if you are not the one doing it. :D

I am very much a tom-boy.
I wear makeup in spurts.. I hate painted nails, and I do not own heels. :P
I'll wear a dress in the summer, but you couldn't pay me to wear pantyhose. And my underwear is very "functional". ;D

How vain are you?

How often do you look in a mirror in a day's time? (2/3 times)
Do you have your hair cut professionally? (twice a year)
Do you wear drugstore makeup, or dept.store makeup?(L'Oreal because a friend of mine who used to work for the Lancome corporation let me in on the secret that they are the same company, and the ingredients virtually the same).
Are you into name brand clothing?(not anymore....still wearing what I wore 15 years ago....wrangler for jeans--the ones with the W made in the US, not the ones without made in China)
Have you had your "colors" done? (????)
Must your shoes, socks, and pants all match? ;D ;D
Have you had your teeth professionally whitened? no.
or are you more the kind that we just hope will remember to put on deoderant in the morning.? (frequent baths--I am a water person...)

How vain ARE you? ;D hmmmm.

Try those stick-on hose. They are separate leggings and have a rubber-lace thigh top. I love them. Easy on and off and you can wear whatever kind of panties you like without having gross old pantyhose - yuk.

I'll bet you took some 'special' undies to CA. ;)

Wow! I learned something - Lancome and L'Oreal - same thing. You just saved me some bucks, kiddo. :)

Do you know how many women would LOVE to fit into the same jeans they wore 15 years ago?

You're a good kid.

How often do you look in a mirror in a day's time?

Mirrors are a great way to make a small room look bigger. We have a lot of mirrors so I see myself a lot, but I don't "look" all that often.

Do you have your hair cut professionally?

Every 6 weeks, cut and higlighted. ;D

Do you wear drugstore makeup, or dept.store makeup?

I still have the same makeup that I got for my wedding. I wear makeup when we go out somewhere nice, which is...not a lot. ;D Mousterizer with sunblock and chapstick daily.

Are you into name brand clothing?

Is Target a name brand? ;D

Have you had your "colors" done?

huh?

Must your shoes, socks, and pants all match?

I mostly wear flip-flops or my berks. When I wear my running shoes I wear my husbands white gym socks.

Have you had your teeth professionally whitened?

nope, but I use the whitening toothpaste. ;)

or are you more the kind that we just hope will remember to put on deoderant in the morning.?

Always deodorant, every day, I swear. ;D

How vain are you?

How often do you look in a mirror in a day's time?
Twice a day, in the morning when I brush my teeth and at night when I brush my teeth. The mirror is right there.

Do you have your hair cut professionally? I used to. I have gotten into coloring it myself. I like the results better. I have not had a haircut since I closed the office. I lie and instead of saying I don't want to waste the time, tell people that I'm intentionally letting it grow.

Do you wear drugstore makeup, or dept.store makeup? I don't wear any makeup. I used to wear drug stor or dept. store depending on my mood. However, when I kiss and hug the dogs, I got makeup all over their clean fur, so I stopped wearing makeup.

Are you into name brand clothing? No. I'm not concerned with what I wear. It was a BIG relief for me to set aside the suits and dresses. I wear grooming pants and smocks all week, and on weekends it's jeans.

Have you had your "colors" done? Done, yes, followed, no.

Must your shoes, socks, and pants all match? The only kind of shoes I wear are Nikes, Reeboks or Avia. Except when I got out into the back country. Then I wear Ranger Boots.

Have you had your teeth professionally whitened? Not even unprofessionally do it yourself whitened.

or are you more the kind that we just hope will remember to put on deoderant in the morning.?
That I do.

Me too. Me too. Me too. Me too. Me too.

I do have some "more than functional" underwear but rarely use it. I get excited about buying new thermal long underwear and hiking boots. Heels? Stopped wearing them in my early 20's. Bad for the legs and feet. Makeup? On special occasions only. My hair is long and thick and healthy because I don't damage it with blowdryers, regular coloring or other styling tools. I couldn't be bothered. It's always been wash and wear. The ends are trimmed regularly. Skin is washed and moisterized (good skin lotion is the only thing I buy regularly for cosmetic purposes). Dentist and doctor visited yearly. Don't use any special toothpaste, floss, deodorant or soap. It's all the same principle anyway. Makes you smell good. ;D

SockMonkey is the closest to me so far.

I had my colors done - but I disagreed so never followed the suggestions.

Hair is done once a month, color, highlights once every other month. I straighten it - curl it - pull it up - wear it down - whatever suits my mood.

I love heels and will wear them whenever I can - but it is hard to find dress pants long enough. Don't wear over a 3 inch heel, however.

Love my running shoes, too, just not for going to town.

I remember once when TL and I were first conversing - long time ago - and he called me 'vain' after he asked me if I allowed men to open doors for me and I told him I not only allowed it, but expected it, and by god, they better have it opened before I get there so I dont' have to break my stride.

:)

I love TL - he is super.

I use whitening toothpaste - but have never had them whitened professionally - they are pretty white already. I tan easiliy and still lay out - but never tan my face. I use tanning gel on that.

I wear contacts mostly - but I have a pair of frumpy glasses that makes me look TOTALLY bookwormish! If I have a dead-serious meeting - I will wear them with my hair in a tight sleek ponytail. Very no nonsense.

I will choose style over brand any day.

I have dropped big bucks on a tiny black dress - but I have also paid $5 for a used blue suit for judging from a second-hand store.

I will NEVER shop at Casual Corner. Like Julianna pointed out before - Spiegel is pretty stylish.

I wouldn't wear fur - real or faux - it reeks of 'new money' and bad taste. :)

I like leather - no not the black kind - but soft sueded pants and jackets. One of my favorite coats is a trench-style of cream colored butter-leather - it is so thin and soft.

I don't spend a lot of time in the mirror. It seems counter-productive.

My favorite casual outfit is a sweatshirt and cut-off jean shorts.

But I like dresses for going out - even if it is just for groceries.

And I LOVE undies - all kinds.

Jeny - I've never had a pair of Berks. But I hear they are super.

Fun thing to do, I wear them when I visit the East COast, even in the winter, I just wear a big pair of wool socks with them becuase it drives one of my cousins nuts. Last year when I was there and I wore them like that, she actually said, with a straight face, "you voted for Gore, didn't you? Traitor" ;)

Wearing them with socks like that is kind of the 'intellectualist' thing to do, it seems. Very 'with-it' in an understated way. I like that look - plus, if you love your Berk's and want to keep those tootsies warm - it does double duty. ;)

I save everything...I have a couple of things from high school and from when my mom was young...I am 48. That's a lot of years....I had my fat clothes and my thin clothes and after our daughter was born I gradually got back into my thin clothes....living in Japan on fish and rice and walking everywhere helped.... ;D

You are sweet.... :)
