Outflanked Democrats Wonder How to Catch Up in Media Wars

By JIM RUTENBERG

Worried that their party has been outgunned in the political propaganda wars by conservative radio and television personalities, influential Democrats are scouring the nation for a liberal answer to Rush Limbaugh and the many others on the deep bench of Republican friends.

For years, Democrats have groused about their inability to balance what they see as the increasing influence over the electorate by advocates of Republican policies.

However, they said, the recent Republican gains have perhaps set the backdrop for the emergence of an angry liberal who could claim the same outsider status that worked so well for Mr. Limbaugh in the early 1990's

Liberals just don't get it, do they. They cannot grasp the enormity of their disconnect to the general public.

In my view what they do not get, by evidence of this move, is that if you want to fight for your ideals you have to live by them. They are selling their ideals for votes and in doing that is offering less of a difference.

They need more liberal think tanks. They need to refute the consistent lies. They do not need to become or pander to liars. They do not need to make Ad hominem an artform.

Then they will have to throw away the playbook from the last 30 years. Liberals had it made. They had damned near total media control and they could manipulate public discourse. Cable television, the internet and talk radio have given us OPTIONS. We don't have to listen to them exclusively anymore. Perhaps they ought to realize they've lost control and move on.

No one needs to lie about liberals, what they are is quite enough. Liberals need think tanks. For what? To figure out how to force others to lockstep with their ideals. Sorry, but too many people really know the liberal ideology and goals and that's what they reject. That's also what the liberal cannot understand. To themselves they are simply reasonable and clear thinking people. Those who don't agree aren't thinking for themselves, they are listening to lies, they are redneck racists who live in trailer parks.

The liberal establishment did have it made until alternative media came about. Once the liberals could no longer tell people "you're the only one who feels that way", they quickly lost control. They are left with a lame "you don't understand if you did, why, you'd be liberal too".

We DO understand very well. The non-liberals are not drooling their chaw. The conservatives are well able to think for themselves and able to decide that liberalism has become just a smidge short of totalitarianism.

You might be interested to know the KARL MARX considered the liberals his worst enemy. He realizeed before he could pull off his COMMUNIST MANIFESTO, he first had to defeat those iberal/socialists who kept throwing crumbs to the proletariat as a bribe to keep them from revolting.

For stupid rednecks and people who think with their bank account, like Republicans, people who do not read Marx, they never knew Marx distinguished between Socialists (liberals) and Communists. For Marx, liberals/socialists were the hold overs from the old aristocracy/royalty/rulers that was largely disempowered by capitalism. They were displaced rich people, not Marx's beloved proletariat, the power base for his Communists.

Marx saw the kindness, love, altrusim of the liberals as a safety valve to let off steam, keep the poor in line. Before the proletariat could "Unite workers" and pull off the global Communist Revolution, those liberals had to be stopped.

So maybe those "stupid" rednecks who live in the trailer courts and suck up to the truly stupid Republicans are smarter than they look?

That's funny. Liberals realize... I haven't met a liberal yet that has a firm grasp of reality, the root word in realize.
