I saw that article on Drudge yesterday.

But, you know what? As much as I would like to trash a Baptist Minister, it sounds like a set-up to me.

I have only worked with PowerPoint a little bit - but I find it hard to believe that he accidently could have gotten the boy's photo on there.

Then, when they found nothing else on his computer - they searched his desk to find more CD's with photos.

Ministers (by and large) IMO have a lot of time on their hands and they usually go over and over sermons until they have exactly what they want. so to believe that he threw together a presentation and never once looked at it - seems strange. Plus - you have to set up the presentation one page at a time.

I don't know. It says he had "just finished" a PowerPoint presentation and was trying to open another document. He could have easily gotten file names confused.

Also, this is not someone with "a lot of time on his hands." He was working for this company, so he had two jobs, not just the one at the church.

I doubt it's a set up. I think he's just flat out busted.

Actually, it makes perfect sense. If child abusers were readily identifiable to the public, they wouldn't live long enough to do any damage. This freak had the perfect 2nd job. Pastor of a Baptist Church. Plenty of kiddies around.

Well, like I said - I have only worked a little bit with PowerPoint. Maybe he had a different program. And if he was very secure in using it - he may have slipped up.

I would not be too amazed that the poor sap has been framed. If ever he left that laptop unattended for even a half hour that would be enough time for some files to be added. Files that would appear at presntation time but would be invisible to a casual user who is not a POWERPOINT guru or so my guru tells me. As to things in the desk- you could stuff Jimmy Hoffa cement overshoes & all, plus Elvis in my desk and I would not notice for weeks. This could well be a brutal practical joke.

Practical Joke?? I'm not sure you meant to use that term. If in fact it was a plant, then the obvious intent was to have him arrested, fired, and basically ruin his life. I wouldn't call that kind of thing a practical joke.

I have seen such 'jokes' almost this bad. Some people honestly do not realize how bad you can harm someone just by suggesting that they mess with kids. Others REALLY are that spiteful and vindictive and perfectly capable of trying to wreck another person as payback for some slight. I once listened to the person in the next cube as he made such a false(probably) accusation to the Authorities against his wife's EX. I wasn't too suprised either when his house got fired up in a driveby in apart of town they usually don't occur.
