View Full Version : Lone Wolf and Cub series?
Anybody here familiar with the Lone Wolf and Cub series of movies from Japan? Also known as the Sword of Vengeance and/or Baby Cart series. There were six original movies, plus a simplified compilation of the first two called Shogun Assassin.
It's the story of a disgraced samurai (Itto Ogami) who pushes his toddler son (Daigoro) around in a baby cart everywhere he goes -- killing all the ninja that come after them, and taking on the occasional assassination job.
A couple links.

I have seen one LW&C movie. Don't remember the plot though, if there were a plot that is ;)
There is a plot, although it's hard for westerners such as ourselves to understand, coming from a different culture and all.
You probaby saw Baby Cart to Hades or Lightning Swords of Death (dubbed version). Did he take out an entire army at the end of the movie, before decapitating this other samurai in a duel?

I remember a fight at a dam/river. I think it was the movie where Lone Wolf and the Cub get together.
I’m into Anime, and borrowed the movie from an acquaintance who shares that interest. I might give him a call and borrow the rest of the series….. and get back the Gasaraki series he have lend for the last six or so months.

That sounds like the first one, or Shogun Assassin, which has scenes from the first two movies. Did he take out five or six chumps, then jump down into the water (it's a very small dam) and take on the last guy, while the old man watched them fight?

I went out and bought all six of them today -- 10 bucks each at this video store over near the college. I've seen the first three, and tomorrow I'll watch the other three.
