It says they need ten inch long pony tails. I think I've got it to spare.
I was trying to figure out if you can just go to any salon to have it cut or if they have designated locations.

I'm not sure about that. I think with hair as dark as mine you'd probably have to bleach it out first for a color to show.
Maybe I should wait for it to turn gray before I start coloring.

I don't think so, but a higher level of "sassy" coming through is noticeable. :)

You could probably get a dark auburn color. I have auburn colored hair... not the flaming red. It's a deep rich color. Something like that might be possible with your dark hair. Go for a consultation and find out what color you could get and a style to bring out the most highlights for your new color.
What if I did it and didn't like it and had to have my head shaved?
There are many things we do in life that we regret. We learn to deal with them.
You don't think wig manufacturers are in business just for fun, do you?
In fact, that's another thing...men LOVE women to wear wigs...especially if they are bald.
Bet you didn't know that.

That's sort of what I was thinking. The problem is not dying it. It's keeping it up once it's been done.

Suth I have red hair now. One thing I learned is to have a professional do hair color or it could turn out not how you want it to be. Red fades fast so if its bright at first after a few washes it change. I always had brownish red hair but now I have the real deal and am happy. I have to go in every 6 weeks or so for a 20 minute reapplication. Its good to get away from work for a while and do something for myself. If you want red go for it!

Nothing. It's just your lack of "motivation" that scares the shit out of me.
Au naturalle is great...don't get me wrong...but how about having a little bit of "going out of my way" for crissakes?
In other words, don't wait until your lips are bleeding from lack of moisture before someone has to say "Gee, do you need some moisturizer or something..like lipstick?" as an example.

Salons are not necessities. They are extravagances. It's not "lack of motivation" to avoid getting tied to one. If you don't have the money or the time, it's just being practical.
I find your concept that women are only beautiful if they have all manner of fake things done to them frightening.
I don't want to be a redhead. I don't want to be anything other than what I am. I could have fun with playing at it for a week or two, but after that I would hate it.

Let's see...24 X 7 X 6 (weeks) = 1,008 hours...
Granted out of that 1,008 hours there is some sleeping involved...but, after subtracting the R.E.M. replenishment someone doesn't have "time" or the resources to "pamper" themselves, I would suggest that they are either addicted to cocaine or crack or they are not motivated.

It cost me $30 to get my hair cut. I'm sure it would cost more to have to have it colored. To me, that's a huge amount to spend on a regular basis. I suppose I could afford it, but I'd have to give up something else...like broadband.

There is a difference between "caring" about your appearance and trying to be something you are not. Too many people waste a hell of a lot of time and money trying to "trick" others into believing they are something different. No one is fooled...but salons, surgeons and the fashion industry are sure as hell cleaning up. ::)

Well, According to Lizzie, one shouldn't have more than two piercings done in one day...the reasoning wasn't clear...but...
If one of those piercings happens to be a nipple and it gets infected and you are forced to use an antibiotic and warm solutions when it gets infected, it is best not to place said nipple in a bra...and much more important when you come home from work, one should not run into a door with one's nipple, thereby causing said piercing to ooze and become infected once again...
Or so I've read...
I'm still shuddering at the thought of a full Prince Albert...and why.... :o

Who am I to question why anyone would post anything on the internet...or for what reasons? A plea for attention? Doubtless. Watch me now? Hell, yeah...it worked for The Godfather of Soul...and other various lowlifes that wouldn't have gotten the time of day had they not been an abnormality and a curiosity...
Why do I know so much about Lizzie? Hmmmm..."vagina" and "titty" kinda draws my attention to the verbs, adjectives and dangling participles following them.
It's a dude thing, I guess.
Way too much information, however. :o
I thought you meant she had posted it elsewhere besides here on the forum. I need to pay better attention I guess. 8)

Why make your bed, right? You're just gonna mess it up again later that day?
Didn't mean to start a fucking war. Just a comment about how bad some do it your self color turns out and that I enjoy 20 minutes away from work every 6 weeks after working 90 hr weeks. You people wonder why new people dont stay around long. Sheesh.

You didn't start the war. LOL. Sorry if we got out of hand. :)
I think you are right that do it yourself is not always a good idea for permanent hair coloring. I was just talking about doing one of those things that rinses out after a few shampoos, though.

To be honest, I know nothing about temporary dyes. I just didn't want to do anything to my hair I couldn't easily put back the way it was.

Of course, the minute he saw it red, he'd say he liked it better brown.
Plenty of time to color it later.

I didn't mean to imply that there is anything wrong with spending a lot of time and money on your appearance. I just meant that I don't think people should be pressured into it.
If you do it for yourself, that's great. If you do it because some asshole made you feel insecure insecure about yourself...screw that.

OK, I know you've been waiting..... The length looks good, it did just what I thought it would do. Now you've got to build some body into it. Time for a perm and highlights, no color. Do that and I'd even take you out, even if you didn't drop those ten pounds.

Here's the thing.. doing this for people who need it is very very cool.
The mom of one of my daughter's friends had breast cancer.. she had to have chemo.. and he hair never grew back properly. It is very thin and patchy. No matter what she does, you can see her scalp.
Looking a little bald like sinead for a couple weeks is no biggie.. who really cares..
Not anyone who is worth a pinch of coon shit.
Think of the people like the cancer survivors who have to go through life with little hope of a decent head of hair again.
I cannot believe how superficial people are. ::)
I hope you go for it Suth. You are beautiful with or without hair.
