That's an idiotic statement, think about it, who comes up with the cures for diseases? Pharm. Companies, can you guess why? Because then they get sole access to that drug (or cure) and sell it. So they DO want to cure them.

And if they cure them, there is no need for their product, therefore, if they cure a disease, they are out of business.

Come on...get on board. ::)

OH, you're talking about "the control" not "the cure."

Gotcha.

01-28-2004, 07:40 PM
I had two prescriptions to fill. One for pain killers and one for Celebrex and the insurance hadn't switched over so they came out of my pocket. $115. The pain killers were 25 bucks or $1 apiece. The bottle of 50 Celebrex cost $95. If you ain't got insurance and you need something to get you through your day without excrutiating pain you are fucked.

And if they were cured they wouldn't be dependant upon the chem ......... it would be over with.

OAG,

Checking the prices for RX-Canada for Celebrex 200 mg...

In the U.S. the price is for (100 quantity) = $259.98

In Canada the price is for (100 quantity) = $141.72 (savings 55%)

Still outrageously expensive, but there is something WRONG with the way drugs are being controlled.

You know how sad it is how easy it is to get prescribed drugs? I have FOUR bottles of vicodin (all unused) in my medicine cabinet. One from the discharge doctor at the hospital when I had Lex, one from when I broke my ankle, one from the ER doc when I had this shooting pain in my wrist that ended up just being carpal tunnel from talking to you assholes too much and one from when I had my wisdom teeth out. Do people REALLY take all 20 vicodin when they get them? I'm shocked. ;)

Why is it that doctors are so willing to prescribe these drugs (assuming you have insurance)? Because they pay the doctors (or give them incentives) to prescirbe them. No one is looking out for your best interests, you better be looking out yourself.

Unlikely. I have never seen a documented case where marijuana was determined to be the sole cause of suicide.

Anti-depressants, especially those known to cause suicidal thoughts, affect a different part of the brain than marijuana.

Not intentionally, maybe, but you cannot blindly trust the pharmacautical companies either. They aren't the "good guys" Squirt, no matter what anyone tells you.

Company lied about Data (http://society.guardian.co.uk/mentalhealth/story/0,8150,1137715,00.html)

The British manufacturers of an antidepressant drug that was last year banned from use in children knew as long ago as 1998 that it did not work and deliberately avoided publishing the full data because of the risk to their lucrative adult market, according to a leaked internal document.

Still think they are interested in curing diseases? ::)

Actually, I have graduated to Norco 10 which is straight Vicodin without any Ibuprophen. That's what'll kill your liver...the Ibuprophen.

And as an aside...Tequila and Vicodin is far superior a buzz than Vodka and Vicodin...in case you were wondering when you reached for those four bottles of stash when you decided to kill yourself...but you see, I don't take them for death...I take them to be NOT in pain.

Also, if you melt it down and inject it in your genitals...well, that would be another thread.

I don't know why I hold onto them, or even why I fill the prescriptions, I have a very high pain tolerance. But there they all sit. I didn't take anything for the stitches, the wisdom teeth or the carpel tunnel, I did take tylenol the first few days after I broke my ankle, but I wouldn't rate the pain for any of the above as unbearable. I didn't even think labor was that bad. <<shrug>>
