View Full Version : First Sign of the Apocalypse: Marijuana Finally Kills Somebody
Marijuana finally killed somebody and it took 23,000 joints in 11 years to do it.
It answers a lot of questions, scientifically speaking, because so many people have the hardest time trying to figure out if human beings really do consume enough drugs to see the effects that scientist report seeing in lab rats.
Like for example, apparently cocaine and ecstasy not only are addictive and raise the risk of cancer but apparently also cause genetic mutations according to an Italian study.
"These drugs, on top of their toxicological effects, attack DNA provoking mutations and altering the hereditary material. This is very worrying for the effects it could have on future generations. In other words, the longer the time frame of drug consumption, the greater the damage to DNA," said Giorgio Bronzetti , chief scientist at the National Center for Research's (CNR) biotechnology department.
The use of ecstasy has increased by 70 percent between 1995 and 2000 according to a United Nations report published in September. Ecstasy and amphetamines have overtaken cocaine and heroin as the fastest growing global narcotics menace, the study said.
Whether the number of kids with one working eye growing out the center of their forehead with one arm noticeably longer than the other has risen in that same time is still unknown.
Here my question. Just how much ecstasy do they pump into these lab mice to see these genetic mutations?
In real world terms, how much cocaine do you have to take before your DNA is altered and you wake up on morning shooting “blasts” out of your finger tips?
I mean do they give these lab mice ecstasy just on the weekends like most people that take ecstasy, or are they giving them bowls of the shit three meals a day for a month.
Knowing how scientists work they probably fed the rats so much cocaine you could probably smoke the lab rats shit and get high.
Hell, I am sure eating a steady diet of Twinkies three meals a day seven days a week for four weeks will alter your DNA too.
I am not saying I don't believe cocaine and ecstasy aren't fucking over people but will a human being really consume that much ecstasy that he will start developing psychic powers?
There is a big difference between being a burn out and growing a third foot out the side of your neck.
Well thanks to Lee Maisey I think we've gotten a lot closer to answering to that question.
Like I said, a 36-year-old man in England named Lee Maisey died recently from smoking 23,000 joints in 11 years.
That is six joints a day, everyday for 11 years.
He is the first known person to ever die from smoking weed and it took 23,000 joints and literally eating the shit like snacks to do it.
The official cause of death was listed was ''cannabis toxicity''.
No word yet on what fantastic superpowers Lee had acquired before he lost his battle to rid the world of every weed plant on the earth by taking it upon himself to smoke them all up, but I think its safe to say that self-control wasn't one of them.
So I guess marijuana does kill…technically.

Maybe, if this case is documented. His death is being described as "death by misadventure", cannabis toxicity is noted.
How much is too much? We just don't know. I know a few people who smoke constantly, all day long, for over 20 years. That might work out to 6 joints a day, perhaps more. They're still kicking. In pretty good shape too. :)
Who keeps track after the 2nd one of the evening anyway? ;D

''If you eat a large amount of cannabis it can be deadly, '' he said. ''I would not be surprised if in this case the deceased had ingested a fatal amount.''
I don't know. Until this is compared to a similar case, we can't know for sure. Besides, the LD50 of marijuana has never been documented as ever having occurred in humans. There is a substantial margin of safety. This means 99.9% of us pass out before toxicity is ever reached. And one would have to eat tons of the stuff to reach that point of death.
Never is not a word used in medicine (or very infrequently). This poor guy may have died from marijuana toxicity. Chances are that he didn't though.
Who keeps track after the 2nd one of the evening anyway? ;D
Anyone who can or needs to smoke two joints or more a day is in desperate need of another supplier. What are you smoking? Shake?

Hey, don't go putting our crop down. ;D
Shake's good for making brownies but it isn't great smoke. We have some fantastic buds for that. :)
And yes, occasionally more than one joint gets passed around in an evening. Got a problem with that? :D

Well, I can certainly appreciate more than one chubby being passed around in a group setting...but on an individual basis? Nah. Either your threshhold is way up there or you're smoking some pretty lousy shit.

That's what I mean, in a group setting. I would never smoke 2 joints myself. Unless you do one in the morning and one at night. :)

Not at all. The LD50 can be reached for alcohol. It is uncommon but it does happen.
For marijuana (and we really don't know the exact LD50 because it is all estimated from rat studies) it has never been documented to have been reached by even the heaviest users.
Why do people drink? Or overeat? Or fuck everything in sight? Or gamble to the point of losing half their paycheque? Or do a multiple of things that many others don't understand?

No. I have never even tried marijuana. I have never even been tempted to try it. Life is too interesting to spend it in a drugged haze or a drunken stupor...

BN,
I am not condemning somebody who drinks or uses marijuana. As long as no one other than themselves is harmed by it, I don't see it as anyone else's business. That includes the state.
I simply don't understand why anyone would want to.
The one time I was drunk was in a military setting and I was pretty much "under orders" from my S-3. I didn't care for the sensation and have had no desire to repeat it. I simply do not understand why people would actually WANT to dull their perceptions and slow their reactions, and for some, do it on a regular basis.

Smoking... I permit myself a cigar on 5 specific days of the year. That's more of a ritualistic thing than an addiction thing.

I'm not certain. I am a pretty good mental judge of the subtle nuances of combined taste sensations, and although I do admit to beimg "tempted" to try a PB&T, I must further admit a slight hesitancy. I'm sure once I got past my initial involuntary gag reflex that I'd probably enjoy it.
I'm curious, though...is the PB chunky or creamy?

Huh-uh. I don't feed dogs canned anything except for canned peas. They love those...and canned corn. No canned dog food for these rats.

Do not do this. It sounds absolutely revolting. Like gobs of hair in peanut butter.
