I seem normal enough, but this is like a whole new world. Things seem a little strange though.
OH MY GOD!!!!
What's happened to me???
I'm not in Kansas anymore...
It's like a whole new world. but NO!!!!
It is not the world that's changed. It is ME!!
It is as though I have been trasnsformed, and I now see things from the OTHER SIDE of the mirror!!!

That's pronounced with an "SH" sound, so, phonetically, it would be "SHUR" ro "Sure." Next syllable.
"AZ" like "ASS" or "as". Then "AL" or "EL" or uh, "HELL".
So, pout it all together and it is pronouced
==>SURE-AS-HELL!!!!

I think he's way to into playing the blonde virgin thing, and as long as we keep calling him Laz nobody will know who we're talking about........so he doesn't respond. ;D

Hey, Burningsky, it is certainly nice to see so many familiar monikers. Sadly, it appears that newsmax.com is kaput.
We shall see, but I remain somewhat skeptical of whether any forum might come close to replacing what was "magical" about that site.
Yes, there was much that might drive posters and moderators nuts, but it was interesting to see what our neighbor's think. :)

Nonsense. There was nothing magical at all about that hunk of server space. Wherever two or more of us are gathered together, there is the 'magic'. ;)

It's sometimes interesting to me to drive through downtown Atlanta, but I like living in the suburbs just fine. Not many drive-by shootings, just the occasional run-by fruiting. :)

Oh shit. You're not going to turn it into a religious experience, are you?
Btw, I had jury duty last week. Walking from the Marta station at Little Five Points to the justice center, stepping over the homeless people and admiring the "Gold Teeth" signs in the store windows fulfills my usual once a year punishmnet.....er, trip into Atlanta.

Well I think you may have hit upon the point of what makes cities different from suburbs--and by analogy what made newsmax.com different.
I suspect it was that it was primarily a news site--conservative--and because of that it drew many conservatives to it and its forum.
By the same token, it got a reputations and drew others whose mission was to try to stand up for liberalism.
And there was a continual infusion of newbies just to keep the place from getting stale.
Still, I have worked in the city but live in the suburbs. I much prefer the suburbs, too. It is comfortable. But in many ways it is also stultifyingly dull--probably why I spend as much time as I do on-line.
;)
Good to see you Wendy (and everyone). ;D

Now how did you read religion into that? I know you don't read scripture, you heathen.

Now that I'm part of 'Metro Atlanta' ::), and have all the associated amenities (more traffic and a Red Lobster) I avoid downtown like the plague. Last time I saw Clapton at the Omni, I took a wrong turn and ended up in Techwood (in a brand new car) at about 11 pm. That was years ago, and enough excitement to last me decades more. If I see downtown at all now, it's from I-85.

Didn't they tear down techwood homes? I made a wrong turn about 10 years ago and ended up there. :o
The only time I go downtown is if I have to go to the Fox, or occasionally the Zoo. I don't even like driving on the connecter on the way to the airport.
Tell me...the lady standing on the capitol dome...is she really holding a bowl of grits?

Well, according to the O-fficial Website, she holds a torch in one hand, and a sword in the other, but I think they made that up to impress the yankees.

That's got to be one short freaking torch..
I like the bowl of grits version better.
