LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Hundreds of Iranian and other Middle East citizens were in southern California jails on Wednesday after coming forward to comply with a new rule to register with immigration authorities only to wind up handcuffed and behind bars.
Shocked and frustrated Islamic and immigrant groups estimate that more than 500 people have been arrested in Los Angeles, neighboring Orange County and San Diego in the past three days under a new nationwide anti-terrorism program. Some unconfirmed reports put the figure as high as 1,000.
Is it already too late, or is the INS actaully going to be able to stop the flow of the ILLEGAL aliens INCLUDING the MUSLIME would be jihad perps ~!??

Maybe they are scared and feel they need to be extra-patriotic so their store isn't vandalized or so no harm comes to them.

The Pakistani 7-11 store guys near here displayed more American Flags than one normally sees at a Parade starting right after the 9-11 debacle---- Not wishing to be miskaten fore MUSLIMERS evidently.

It was a necessary albeit latent move by INS. They are without a doubt incompetent. The latest on this suggests that only a handful of the people are still in custody but of course the Left (may they rot in Canada) neglects to point that out. The real bad guys of course didn't participate in this little post immigration check.

The men arrested were not arrested because they were muslims, but because they were criminals. They had committed crimes AND were here illegally. They showed up because they could not believe that they would be arrested for the crimes they had committed. This is a CULTURAL difference. In their culture, whatever crime they committed was not a crime (including being here illegally, something we routinely ignore) so they assumed that even though we had a law against this activity, it was a wink-wink type of law.
Put them on a plane, send them home and start up another round.

No matter how desperate you are in wanting these guys to be innocents, they are not. They were all wanted for a variety of other crimes, petty crimes true but still crimes. Which is why they showed up. They truly believed that because these crimes were small, no one would pay attention to them. Just ignore it, the crime will soon turn into a legal activity.
I hope they run another round up soon.

We are somehow not permitted to say this, but the solution to Iraq is at hand. Repeal sanctions immediately. Trade with Iraq. Oil prices would fall dramatically. Hatred of the US would abate. I am certainly opposed to local governments.
