How long are those photo cards supposed to last on a digital camera? I've had two go bad on me in a relatively short time.

Is there a brand that works better than others? Is it just me?

I am unclear as to what you are referring to as a card...is that the Flash Memory?

IT should be guaranteed ,....or at least warranteed!!!!!!

What camera are you having all the troubles with , and what brand of .."card"?

I don't uses flash cards. "If it ain't a Sony, it's shit."

Would that be an outstanding trademark or what?

I guess it is a flash card. The camera refers to it as a CF card. The camera is an HP.

So it's a piece of shit, but it works okay for me. The only problem is that the little cards keep going belly up. They will refuse to save anything and refuse to reformat.

I didn't know if this was just the way it worked or if I was having shitty luck.

This last one was a Lexar. I don't remember if the one before that was the same.

I screwed up a smart media card by pulling it out of the reader while the green light was still on...........but other than that no problems in my cheapie Logitec Clicksmart.............way better than I thought it would be for the price. (Works as a web cam too.)

I'd check to see who made the smart media card..........but the green light's on.. :-\

There is always the possibility that I am doing something to screw these things up. The only problem is I have no idea what that might me.

Not to make you feel bad, ha, but I got a FREE digital camera when I bought a Dell computer about 7 or 8 months ago that works fairly well. It is a Largan chameleon mega 1.3 Megapixel. I use Adobe PhotoDeluxe Business Edition to fix and save as jpeg file instead of the Largan software. No zoom lens etc.. but what the hell, it was FREE and no cards to mess with!! ;D

I like the cards really. Even with the tiny 8 mb card it came with I got 250 lower resolution pics on it and over a hundred higher..........with a 32 I guess I should get about a thousand.

I've got photoshop 7, but I like photoimpact because it's easier and quicker for me, and I like the photo album they have. But I still reformat from the reader even though the camera plugs in via usb just because a few that came up unreadable thru the camera were fine thru it, and since it's already in there...

I want the Fugi 6x optical bad........$400 now, but I'm hoping it drops a hundo after christmas.......I think it's like a 3 mp...might only be 2 though

Actually I just got this free Largan out of the box a few weeks and have been experimenting with it. I think it sells for $70 or less and I like the cards also and will get a better digital camera sometime. I've heard that scallops taste sorta like shark and the only way to tell is the edges of scallops are rounded. ???

Kind off subject, but I just want to tell you guys something really cool about my new printer.

It has a port for the memory sticks. It reads almost any kind. It used to take me forever to download from my camera to my puter because I had to do each pic individually, but I stick the card in the port of the printer, press upload and in about 10 seconds I had 150 pics on my puter. It was sooooo cool. :D

I got an hp 900. It prints, faxes ( useless function for me), scans and copies. I know some of you don't like the all in one machines, but it serves my purposes, which are purely recreational.

My newest problem is that I can't find a replacement card in time for Christmas. The only one I have at the moment is only a 4mb that came with the camera. When I looked for new ones, they were sold out of 32mb and 64mb. They only had 128s, which cost an arm and a leg.

Ho, ho, ho.

Not that fast. I'm going to check some other stores tomorrow. If that doesn't work I'll just buy film and use the 35 mm.

It depends on how it's cooked I guess........I always thought it like a funky textured catfish myself.

As to the cameras..........yeah I figure if my cheapie ($150 or so) works so well with maybe 1 mp, one with 3 and 6x optical ought to be unreal..........if I find out I can write it off for sure, it's mine...............otherwise it's kind of hard to justify as I'm not a total camera freak. though mostly because I never would get around to developing the film.

My HP Deskjet 970 has been 150% Trouble Free for two years~!!

2400 DPI,..which exceeds the resolution of the vast majority of professionally printed matter~!

Being two years old it does. not print as FAST as the new 900 whichever series but I STILL have year on the warranty~!!

That's handy..........mine doesn't do that so I bought the reader that does a few different kinds of cards.....it was like $30 or so.

I didn;t even realize it could do that until I said to my husband "what's that thingy for?"

I assumed the shark strips were cut with a circular knive, kinda like a cookie cutter. Each end of the cut would have edges at 90*, instead of rounded for real scallops.

As to camera, I agree! If you don't watch out, you can become a prisoner to your possessions, if you know what I mean!!

Sand sharks have long round tails that when cut up are small and round like a scallop maybe. There would be kind of a Y slice in the center where the cartalage (sp) would have been removed. We usually rinse really well, marinate and bbq. But if prepared differently maybe they DO taste like scallops?

Everything I catch I almost always grill, except Sheepshead that I take the time to bake (kind of lobstery unusual taste).

Sand Shark

I think that's a nurse shark or something (never seen one quite like that to tell ya the truth)

The sand sharks we get look sort of like rays but longer as opposed to round and mostly tail. We steak them out about an inch thick. They really do look kind of like scallops once skinned and all. (and have been soaking awhile)

I've never noticed them for sale, but then I'm not much of a shopper either.

Sounds like you're talking about a "Shovel Nose Shark." I know what you're talking about, though. I do think this is a Sand Shark. After doing some research, there are some Sand Tiger Sharks. I'm wondering if "Sand Shark" has to do with where they hunt. It's been a while since I took oceanography.

You're right about the proper name for it though. Also called guitar fish, but the only thing anyone will think of when you say sand shark out here that I've eve seen. Guitar fish?? Shovel nose I'd know what you were talkng about..........Definitely has shark skin though.
