on my daily walks. If I don't get my ass in gear, the winter blahs are gonna get the best of me.
So..I'm off. I have my long johns, my sweatpants, my turtleneck, my sweatshirt, my wind pants, my winter jacket, my scarf, my headband, my thinsulated mittens, and warmest foot gear on.
Oh yeah.. and my music. But of course, by the time you get those layers of clothing on, it's easy to forget things. ::)
TTFN.

That's awfully inspiring. Since it's started getting dark soon after I get home from work, I've had a very hard time with motivation.

Ahhhh, we were talking about that the other day. We were planning on going somewhere (can't remember where) and it literally took us 10 minutes to put all our layers on. He reminded me about my long underwear after I had half my clothes on (I forgot about them) and I had to take my jeans and socks off to put them on.

But WTF, I still like winter. Weird but true. ;D

What happens if you suddenly get "in the mood?" I'm having a difficult time picturing in my mind a ten-minute strip show of heavy thermals being remotely exciting.

You can't know until you've actually tried it. ;)

Suth. I have walked miles upon miles on dark cold roads.. with a flashlight in hand. It was my sanity saver.
Now that I am in town, and have streetlights to light my way, and I'm happy.. I lack motivation. Ironic.. ain't it. ::)

Have you ever smelled a man freshly outta thermal underwear? Cures the mood. ;) ;D

Depends on the man. ;D

Attraction has alot to do with the way we smell. Really. Couples are together and stay together partly because they like the way each other smells. Has to do with pheromones. :)

But at one point you did like his smell (and obviously other things about him).

You wouldn't have 4 children if you didn't. ;D

Wow! Might have 'saved' YOUR sanity - but I would have been a wreck. Werewolves would have lurked behind every tree and the serial killers would have been out "en masse". Yikes. You are a brave soul.

I hope you took extra batteries. :o

No its not. ;)

At one time you had to like the way he smelled, now you don't. Something changed. :D

When I moved from the country to the city, I didn't go back for quite a few years. When I did, I couldn't believe how dark the country was (I got used to streetlights being on during the night).

When we go camping, it's the same thing in the mountains - it is really dark. Sometimes we go on night hikes and that is really cool. You don't know how well you can see with just your night vision (until you try it). :)

Okay, that's it. All this talk of exercise is getting to me. I think I'll park in a "visitor" spot today so I have to walk a few feet farther to my office. :)

When we first moved to the country I was a wreck - a displaced city girl. But I love it now.

We don't do a lot of night time walks although we try to do the "hunter's moon" walk - kind of a tradition my daughter started when we first moved out here 6 years ago. But we do it in a group. Safety, you know. My plan is to push the others towards the werewolves and run like Hell!

But we sit outside lots on warm summer nights on our deck. I love the stars in the country - they are so bright. However we are some of the few who appreciate them. Most of the farmers here have a huge yard light that the electric company puts on a pole right in their yard. We had to fight just to have our lines trenched in - instead of those ugly poles - and then NOT to have the light. So it can be quite dark.

I am starting to like camping better - but I want a camper - that tent bullshit we went through last summer is for the birds - or bears. ;)

I guess it's a matter of personal preference - we happen to be very comfortable in our tent. It didn't happen all at once, but with us replacing some equipment every year, we got there.

We used to have individual sleeping mats and since one was thicker than the other it was a pain in the butt sleeping tandom. But now we have a double sleeping pad, we zip our sleeping bags together and we are snug as a bug in a rug. ;D

There is also just enough room to keep our clothes bags and the shotgun in the tent. Just in case of bears. ;)

lol Tig. The scariest thing I ever encountered on the road was a wolf. And that was a one time deal. I have been chased by dogs, and I have to say, I'd rather see the wolf. :)
I think I scared the hell out of more drivers suddenly encountering a person along the road in the pitch dark, than I was ever scared.
I've seen all kinds of deer and bunny wabbits , and coons, and cats. I've made pals with almost all the neighbourhood pooches. Been all fun.
(And I'm hoping that the neighbours have never actually pieced together that that was me singing above my walkman.) ;D

OOHHHH.. right now I am remembering..ever hear a fox calling? Sounds exactly like a woman screaming. Heard that once and THAT scared me.

Why?

The night is a wonderful time to go wandering around. It's interesting to see the world from the view of nocturnal creatures. And the night sky is absolutely the best part of being out at this time (other than the fact that most everyone is sleeping and you have this space and quiet all to yourself). ;D

I think it should be mandatory for everyone to go starwatching every once in a while. It brings a whole new perspective on life. A nicer one. ;)

It was still there the last time I drove by... ;D

No, I still go, it's just getting much easier to find excuses not to have time. ::) I still enjoy the workout, it's the trip to the gym that's getting to be a pain in the ass. I'm waiting for a Bowflex video to arrive. :)

Do you actually have a Bowflex or are you just going to make some popcorn and watch the video?
