Rush said shortly after it happened that ridiculing Chelsea's appearance was the worst thing he ever did on the air.

I'd be polite to Hilarity! too (even if she wasn't surrounded by a dozen well-armed Secret Service agents). Even if he wanted to slam her ideas, she is one of the best professional victims in the history of politics, and would immediately get the sympathy factor working for her.

Simple.I'm surrounded by leftie wack jobs on a daily basis. Some of 'em I work with on a fairly regular basis, and have become friends, but I meet new ones all the time.
They're the most fun, especially when I wear one of my Confederate T-shirts.

And then what? is your life going to be better?

The Republicans are just another big government party like the democrats, their wrangling over minor issues is just to distract you from the larger issue of them acting together (yet slowly enough to keep most people from noticing and starting a revolution) to steal ever more of your money and freedom and get involved in ever more foreign squabbles.

Did you say that when Kammerad kLinton was blowing the hell outta shit for self-aggrandizment or,better yet, keeping Grand Jury testimony below the fold?
Then what?Maybe more of my own money stays with me?
I got a tax cut, small maybe, but more than I EVER saw from any fucking Dem of late.If they ever get back in charge, they're gonna see to it that I "pay my fair share" since I'm successful, and did it without any of their fucking help.Plus, they'll do it to spite us for daring to kick their foul disgusting lying asses out of the majority.

Yes.

"Then what?Maybe more of my own money stays with me?"

Maybe not. Spending has grown faster under Bush than under Clinton.
It has grown faster under the Republican Congress (since 1995) than in
the previous 7 years. That money has to come from somewhere. It isn't
coming from growth, since every time we get a Bush slime family member
in the white house the economy tanks. So, it's either coming from taxes
or debt (future taxes).

The Republican "tax cut" is just propaganda. And not even good
propaganda at that.

Yep, just an early refund, but you might owe more at the end
of the year. And more still the next year, or several years
from now, to pay for today's spending.

Dem/Left? Granted,I'm making assumptions,but your"Bu$h Police State" kinda gives me a clue...
I'm in a top tax bracket,so I get clobbered.I'm self-employed,so I'm not hyponotized by witholding.I'm painfully aware of how far up the chute I get it.
Any true tax cuts will be quite welcome here.As long as the Repubs are in charge,my chances are better to get 'em,and not "targetted" to "working families"whatever the fuck that means.Guess it's some kinda Dem code word for anyone who's a loser and can't make a success of themselves like I did.
Guess since I can provide a good living for myself and my family,I don't deserve a break.

No.

They're not the only ones against a Bush Police State.

I'm a libertarian.

"Any true tax cuts will be quite welcome here.As long as the Repubs are in charge,my chances are better to get 'em,"

They're not, as I explained above,

"Guess it's some kinda Dem code word for anyone who's a loser and can't make a success of themselves like I did."

Not everyone who is poor is a "loser" necessarily. I have been both rich and poor, as well as middle class. But I've never been in the top tax bracket because I'm a non-filer or "tax protestor" as the IRS calls it.

Actually, I just don't volunteer to hand them my money.

It ain't theirs.

And they won't get it so long as I can keep them from getting it.

With tens of millions of non-filers (and growing every year) according to their own stats, chances are they will never get either me or my money.

Well I've been in "the tank" before - once for close to a year awaiting my eventual acquital on a bevy of trumped up charges. It's not fun, but not anything to cry about; first thing I do is take a piss on the floor or whatever it takes to get taken out of the population, as I can not abide their ignorant racket. The rest of my stay at the greybar hotel I generally spend excercising, reading and meditating. So, I'm prepared should it come to pass. Of course, it might not be so pleasant in the coming police state, if I'm still here, but then I've been tortured before, too.

Incidentally, I can't remember how thread got started...
if it's one of the ones on Lott, this may be apropo, otherwise...oh well. What Lincoln might have said at Thurmond's party...

What Lincoln Said at Thurmond's Party
by Kevin Southwick

"Five score terrible years ago, Strom Thurmond was born. And Senator Thurmond, I’d like to be the first to praise you, for enduring so long in today’s political climate. If I believed in God, I would say that you must have had God’s protection all this time. Take it from me, if you try to govern against the will of the people, they will find a way to get rid of you. I envy your longevity. Had I lived to 100 and met you as a toddler, I would have suggested that when you grow up you should finish the work that was left undone at my untimely death. That is, deportation of all Negroes from this great nation of liberty.

"By the way, Senator, being among the dearly departed is good news and bad news. I can still vote, but only for Democrats. (Loud laughter.) Since 1865 I’ve argued against this among the thousands of Democrat and Republican officials I see on a daily basis, but our meeting room is much too hot for us to accomplish anything. Seems there’s fire everywhere.

"As to the undone work, your 1948 presidential campaign was a good try. But I would like to point out that the idea of racial segregation, for which many people have criticized you, was a bit shortsighted. It is good for what it is – or was. But keeping Negroes (Negro, can I say that today?) out altogether is a much better idea. My own state, Illinois, thought this was a good idea awhile back. We actually forbade the admission of free Negroes. But as to segregation, I say of it as I said of slavery, ‘eliminating it would be a greater evil, even to the cause of human liberty itself.’ But the final solution should be deporting all Negroes to have ‘their places be filled up by free white laborers.’ This goal is also based on my long held view that ‘there is a physical difference between black and white races which forbid the races from ever living together in terms of social and political equality.’

"Yes, Senator, though radicals did talk of freeing Negro slaves, many Northern states had the wisdom to pass laws to make sure that freed Negroes had to leave. And we were glad to see that the Southern states, being ignorant, did allow free Negroes to enter and actually own property. Present company excluded, Senator, but how could Southerners be so immoral? Can you imagine!

"At any rate, Senator, if I had been successful in deporting all Negroes to Africa, Central America – or, heck, anywhere – you would not have had to champion the noble cause of segregation. But since you did, you certainly should have been elected to carry out this great work of humanity.

Afraid not, on either count.

The cognitive problems, of course, are on Mikey's part, if he thinks I believe
"producers must be punished" or "initiative is evil" or "the wealthy must be
made to bleed". But then, Mikey's cognitive problems are nothing new.

Of course, it's also entirely possible he's not talking about me at all, but then
one wonders what in the thread he is blabbering about.

Perhaps he's been reading too much of the books in his latest pic...then again,
they're probably above his reading level.

He's absorbed the content intuitively, though.

Bassman,

"Tell him for me that was one of the best books I've ever read.I couldn't put it down.
I heard him on a talk show, and ordered the book the minute I arrived home. "

You can meet him and many other great writers, as I did, at the Mises Institute conferences. Their schedule is at Mises.org, along with many articles and online journal archives. Most of their conferences are eminently affordable, and held in Auburn, Alabama, a pleasant college town. The scenery in town is nice, as it tends to be in college towns.

And you can keep up with their latest at LewRockwell.com which has daily articles from DiLorenzo and numerous other authors.

I highly recommend both websites and the conferences. Since you enjoyed DiLorenzo's book you will most likely enjoy these as well.
