View Full Version : What kind of "Art" do you prefer?

What we have hanging around the place is almost all educational, scientific or nature prints. We have framed maps, wolf and other nature posters, photographs of space, etc. I would like to get a print of the periodic table to hang over the computer desk. I would also like to get a print of my avatar:

The print is interesting. I feel it makes a statement about man and his environment. Just my opinion, that's all. :)

I don’t like paintings much at all, at least not in the sense that I would hang it on my wall. I prefer abstract art that fits into the color scheme of the room.
I also like commercial posters like the ones for Southern Comfort liquor and Chesterfield cigarettes. I tries to get some large ones one time, but as advertising for alcohol and cigarettes in Norway is prohibited; no dice.

I LOVE the Work O Diane Arbus the woman that Photgraphed all the FREAKS that she encountered in and around NYC back in the 1970's
Shes DEAD now likey as the subject matter that obsessed here drove her into a very deep depression, finally ending in her suicide~!

My favorite kind of art is something edible - like Gingerbread Houses. Fun to make and eat. But I also like Ice Sculptures - can lick em' if you want - and dont' get caught.
Art in food is amazing because it is only momentary. Fleeting. That is what makes is appealing.
Cholocate rabbits. Yum
Why do you think such big to-do's are made when entertaining? Because - the art is two-fold - in the appearance and in the taste.

The ART CRITIQUE for Wednesday December 18-2002
The SHADOW under the sitters ASS would NOT,,I repeat NOT take the shape of a REGULAR,...symetrical OVAL---- as appears in the image posted at the head of thee thread. IT WOULD follow the irregular surface of the craggy rock that the sitter has been superimposed onto.

Digital art is neither conceieved nor executed to be purely decorative, in most instances, but is rather the direct result of illustrating a concept inteneded to Stimulate Action or Thought.
