an ear that hurts like hell.
So bad I cannot sleep.
I want the world to be miserable with me.

I am so sorry.
Is it an inner-ear infection? Do you ever get swimmers ear that develops into those?
An old wives' remedy is to take a clove of garlic. Peel it and insert into the ear. If you do that - make sure it is big - so you don't stick something little in your ear and have embarrassing explaining to do to the doc who has to suction it out.
Then - tape it in place. If you regularly have ear problems - candling helps some. I do it for my hubby and he swears by it. Be careful though so you don't get burned.
I really feel your pain. Little children to care for and now - an earache. Ouch. If I were there - I would take your little ones for the day and go shopping and frog-finding. Maybe some horse riding and the like. But since I cannot do that from Kansas - I will just wish you the best and a speedy recovery.

Take a lightbulb (60 watt or better), lit, on one end of a toiletpaper roll.......put the other end to your ear...... rumor has it the buggies don't like the light OR the heat.....and they die
Seems like it might be a good idea to get any wax out first though, as a hell of a plug might result otherwise.... ;D
