Nope. I'm not a gambler when it comes to injecting influenza into my body.

Getting a flu shot is betting on the "come line" that the strain of innoculation they are giving you will be the strain of influenza that will greet us with open arms during flu season.

Exactly. A bunch of people have told me I should get the flu shot because I am pregnant. My OB thinks pregnant women should be taken OFF the list of people who are considered "high risk" I won't be getting it.

Neither will Alexa get it for that matter, even though she is in the "risk" catagory.

I won't get it.

I have a 4 day viral thing right now. I can't wait till it's over.

It will be a rough week.

You're due for a booster.

Past due. But since I've had it four times....maybe I'll still have some protection.

I have to get the flu shot. Mandatory when we are employed in healthcare. If I was not employed in helathcare.. I would not get it. My children will not either.

I won't get it for 2 reasons. One: I can't afford it, I don't care how much it costs, I don't have the money. Two: I don't get the flu every year, and when I do it's not too bad.

You can probably get it for free at the college, but I'm glad you're not getting it, you have no reason to get it

The DW got it yesterday. I think I will pass once again this year as I am still pissed about being compelled to get the shots during the Carter Administration.

In many places it is free. I have never voluntarily had an influenza shot. From my knowledge of viruses, I think it's ridiculous to inject yourself with a serum that most likely won't be the strain that mutates.

Common misconceptions are that the flu shot covers colds.. nope.. it will not. Also.. the healthcare industry predicts the flus that will be prevalent.. and there are , invariably flus that flourish that are not covered in the vacinne. also.. the flu vaccine loses effectiveness around march or april.. and then WHAMMY! in may we are all sick as shit.
Upside is.. for a large group pf people in Canada.. the flu shot is fre.
