The government has a new strategy for reducing the unnecessary use of antibiotics: Persuade parents to stop pestering pediatricians to write prescriptions for runny noses.

I cannot believe that MOST people don't know this BASIC health information by now. Antibiotics have NO effect on virusus.

This is so stupid. Parents badger doctors into writing prescriptions...and the doctors comply even though they know damned well that they are destroying the future efficacy of the antibiotics when they prescribe them for no good reason.

"You can't imagine on a daily basis the pressure on a physician to write that antibiotic," said Dr. Michael Fleming of Shreveport, Louisiana, president-elect of the American Academy of Family Physicians

Tough shit. If they can't show a little backbone, perhaps they ought to consider a different line of work.

It makes me so mad. Parents SO over medicate their kids, with prescxriptions and with over the counter stuff too. They do it to thier kids because they do it to themselves. But, it needs to stop. People need to stopusing anti-bacterial soap too. People are so damn afraid of germs.

We've stopped using it at home.

I think it should be mandatory in all public washrooms though. ;D

Viruses are nasty but bacteria are not all that benign. There are some dangerous ones out there.

Of course. There is a bacteria that produces a toxin millions of times more potent than any virus known.

Some people put it in their lips these days. ::)

A certain amount of exposure to "germs" is beneficial to us. That's the way we evolved and lived for centuries. Sometimes nature knows what she's doing. :D

Not what I read about them.

One figure I saw was that 80% of sensation can be lost from the nipples. Why would women decide to intentionally give up that amount of pleasure? For what? To look good for a man? ???

Bigger tits = self-confidence? ???

If that were the case, I imagine every woman would have the surgery done.

And it would appear that almost every woman in California is missing that personal trait.

"They" say that they "look better in clothes" when their tits are bigger.

Hey...it's not like ***I*** had my tits enlarged. Sheesh. I'm just telling you what I was told. I tried to discourage them. I prefer smaller breasts...so, obviously, they weren't doing it for me.

ROFL!!

I'm sure there's a TON 'o Thou shalt nots in that one, too...

Thou shalt not pick your nose in public;
Thou shalt not fart in elevators;
Thou shalt not scratch your balls in grocery stores...

There are men who scratch their balls in grocery stores? :o

Wait, that shouldn't surprise me - I saw a man try out the deodorant in the store. He actually applied it on his pits, put the cap back on and return it to the shelf.

A few months ago I saw a woman in Wal-Mart do the same thing. But.... I picked it up off the shelf and walked over and dropped it in her cart and said, "You use it you buy it". She just looked at me and said, "okay". She also turned bright red in the face and hurried off. Now whether she bought it or not I don't know as I didn't follow her around the store. That kind of stuff irritates the hell out of me.

I was too shocked to do anything like that but good for you for doing it.

How can people be so selfish and uncaring? Don't they care about the next person to pick up that deodorant? What am I saying? Obviously not.

Of course they don't care. I've seen people use all kinds of things in the store and just walk away. Crazy!! ::)

What I find PARTICULARLY disgusting is that women try on underwear at the store prior to purchasing them.

What I want to know is after they've tried out a pair, didn't like them, cut a moist fart in them and put them back...who's the next victim to try them on?

Thank God for packaged BVD's.

09-22-2003, 09:50 AM
Oh, yes...another one. Women's bathing suits. Ya go in, try 'em on, don't like 'em, "ooze in 'em, put 'em back.

What? Are you insane? Chylmadia heaven, babes.

jeny

Who trys on underwear? I don't know anyone that does. I buy my size and wash it before I wear it. With bathing suits, I leave my underwear on to try them on.

Never been to Victoria's Secret, huh? Oh, wait. That's right. You're married. You don't need to impress. ;D

That's decent of you to wear your undies in trying out bathing suits. I'm sure there are those that don't.

What makes you think I don't have lingerie? I have NEVER seen a woman try on underwear. I mean, I don't really KNOW what they do in the fitting room. I always assumed they were trying on bras, which is a definate MUST.

The ones that don't are the REASON I do. :-*
