View Full Version : If I Should Die Before I Wake (aka) Don't Let The Bed Bugs Bite

Enter Sandman - Metallica

Say your prayers little one
Don't forget, my son
To include everyone

Tuck you in, warm within
Keep you free from sin
Till the sandman he comes

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Off to never never land

Something's wrong, shut the light
Heavy thoughts tonight
And they aren't of snow white

Dreams of war, dreams of liars
Dreams of dragon's fire
And of things that will bite

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Off to never never land

Now I lay me down to sleep
Pray the lord my soul to keep
If I die before I wake
Pray the lord my soul to take

Hush little baby, don't say a word
And never mind that noise you heard
It's just the beast under your bed,
In your closet, in your head

Exit light
Enter night
Grain of sand

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
We're off to never never land

So wake up sleepy one…
It's time to save your world…

Steal dreams and give to you
Shoplift a thought or two
All children touch the sun
Burn fingers one by one, by one…

Will this earth be good to you
Keep you clean or stain through…

So wake up sleepy one…
It's time to save your world…
You're where the wild things are…
Yeah, toy soldiers off to war…

Big eyes to open soon
Believing all under sun and moon
But does heaven know you're here?
And did they give you smiles or tears?
No, no tears

Will this earth be good to you?
Keep you clean or stain through…

So wake up sleepy one…
It's time to save your world…
You're where the wild things are…
Yeah, toy soldiers off to war…

Ooh song lyrics. Here's one of my favourites:

Angry Johnny
(POE & R. J. Rice 1995)

Johnny
Angry Johnny
This is, Jezebel in hell
I wanna kill you
I wanna blow you; away

I can do it to you gently
I can do it with an animal's grace
I can do it with precision
I can do it with gourmet taste
But either way
Either
Oh, either way
I wanna kill you
I wanna blow you; away

I can do it to your mind
I can do it to your face
I can do it with integrity
I can do it with disgrace
But either way
Either
Oh, either way
I wanna kill you
I wanna blow you; away

I can do it in a church
I can do it any time or place
I can do it like an angel
to quiet down your rage
But either way
Either
Oh, either way
I wanna kill you
I wanna blow you; away

I can do it in the water
I can do it on dry land
I can do it with instruments
I can do it with my own bare hands
But either way
You know where it stands
I wanna kill you
I wanna blow you; away

Where did your pleasure go
When the pain came through you
Where did your happiness go
This force is running you down now
Getting you down now
Where is your pleasure now johnny
Where has your pleasure gone

Now

Enter Sandman - Metallica

Just when I found one song I really liked by Metallica, they started pissing and whining about MP3s, so I completely tuned them out.

Sad But True kicks ass, though. Has that 'stomping through the trees' sound (see also Rooster by Alice in Chains)...

Sanitarium is probably my favorite.

But is phenomenal also.

Rooster is pretty good. Alice in Chains was phenomenal in concert.

I love song lyrics too, here's one of my faves

Michelle Branch - Goodbye to You

Of all the things I believed in
I just want to get it over with
tears form behind my eyes
but I do not cry
counting the days that pass me by

I've been searching deep down in my soul
words that I'm hearing are starting to get old
feels like I'm starting all over again
the last three years are just pretend

And I said,
Goodbye to you
Goodbye to everything I knew
You were the one I loved
the one thing I tried to hold on to

I still get lost in your eyes
and it seems that I can't live a day without you
close my eyes and you chase my thoughts away
to a place where I am blinded by the light
but it's not right

And I said,
Goodbye to you
Goodbye to everything I knew
You were the one I loved
the one thing I tried to hold on to

And it hurts to want everything and nothing at the same time
I want what's yours and I want what's mine
I want you
but I'm not giving in this time

And I said,
Goodbye to you
Goodbye to everything I knew
You were the one I loved
the one thing I tried to hold on to

And when the stars fall
I will lie awake
you are my shooting star

Goodbye Horses (by Q. Lazzarus)
(From the tranvestite scene in Silence of the Lambs)

You told me, I see you rise
But, it always falls
I see you come, I see you go
You say, "All things pass into the night"
And I say, "Oh no sir I must say you're wrong
I must disagree, oh no sir, I must say you're wrong"
Won't you listen to me

You told me, I've seen it all before
Been there, I've seen my hopes and dreams
A lying on the ground

I've seen the sky just begin to fall
And you say, "All things pass into the night"
And I say, "Oh no sir, I must say you're wrong
I must disagree, oh no sir, I must say you're wrong"
Won't you listen to me

Good-bye horses I'm flying over you
Good-bye horses I'm flying over you

There is a song from the movie "The Crow" and there is a song on the sound track... I heard it years ago. I don't know the title or the artist, but the music was slow, haunting, beautiful... One of the lines is "It can't rain all the time"

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Anyone know the significance of this one?

Though your brother's bound and gagged
And they've chained him to a chair
Won't you please come to Chicago
Just to sing
In a land that's known as freedom
How can such a thing be fair
Won't you plaese come to Chicago
For the help we can bring
We can change the world -
Re-arrange the world
It's dying - to get better
Politicians sit yourself down,
There's nothing for you here
Won't you please come to Chicago
For a ride
Don't ask Jack to help you
Cause he'll turn the other ear
Won't you please come to Chicago
Or else join the other side
We can change the world -
Re-arrange the world
It's dying - if you believe in justice
It's dying - and if you believe in freedom
It's dying - let a man live it's own life
It's dying - rules and regulations, who needs them
Open up the door
Somehow people must be free
I hope the day comes soon
Won't you please come to Chicago
Show your face
From the bottom to the ocean
To the mountains of the moon
Won't you please come to Chicago
No one else can take your place
We can change the world -
Re-arrange the world
It's dying - if you believe in justice
It's dying - and if you believe in freedom
It's dying - let a man live it's own life
It's dying - rules and regulations, who needs them
Open up the door
We can change the world

You mean that it was Graham Nash's first solo hit, or that it was about the 68' DNC?

Supernova
Liz Phair

I have looked all over the place
But you have got my favorite face
Your eyelashes sparkle like gilded grass
Your lips are sweet and slippery like a cherub's bare wet ass
'Cause you're a human supernova
A solar superman
You're an angel with wings afire
A flying, giant friction blast

You walk in clouds of glitter and the sun reflects your eyes
And everytime the wind blows I can smell you in the sky
Your kisses are as wicked as an F-16
And you fuck like a volcano, and you're everything to me
'Cause you're a human supernova
A solar superman
You're an angel with wings afire
A flying, giant friction blast
A giant flying friction blast

'Cause you're a human supernova
A solar superman
You're an angel with wings afire
A flying giant friction blast

Yep. I said that. ;)

It still couldn't have been the inspiration for the riots, after the riots occurred.
