Good Things About Jews (So no one can call me anti-Semitic anymore)

So everyone knows that I am not anti-Jew - I am establishing this thread so we can all tell the beneficial contributions from either individual Jews or of Jewish thought collectively.

I will go first. I really appreciate the Jewish influence in America in keeping abortion legal.

Well ya know I have a lot of good shit to say about Jews.

1.They probably have it completely right about the basic nature of man.. greedy but libertarian.
2.They always come out on the side of fairness.. if you deserve it, it you get it
3.They think all men are equal… well the rest of all men after Jews are equal.. but that is alright every groups thinks they are the best !
4.They are not prudes
5.They believe in God … but they wont let it get in the way of business !

I often think it is weird when people talk about the great Jewish WW conspiracy.. if they are in charge of everything then I reckon all things being equal they are doing a pretty good job !

Got to call you on that one. It is true that all young Israeli's go through a term of Military Service, BUT when the Army goes to the field to wage war the girls are withdrawn from their Frontline Units and replaced with male Reservists. The ladies fill in for the men gone to war from vital civilian jobs. Not that a woman CAN'T fight. There is nothing more deadly than a woman protecting her children. That said women just DO NOT make good infantry and the Israeli's are well aware of that.

Zola Levitt expresses the importance of this on his show every Sunday on PAX. I love this guy. He's done some really good shows on how Messianic Jews have suffered persecution from both Christian Fundementalists and Religious Jews, The 3rd Temple, the red heiffer that has been born, etc.

I used to go to a Messianic Synagogue until I stopped getting in to the whole church thing. One of the windows was shot out by a gun. I never did get the story behind it and I never asked.

By Jewish standards - a Jew can be a Jew - indeed MUT be a Jew even if he leaves his Jewish faith UNLESS he/she converts to another faith (especially Christianity) So, if a Jew converts - he is no longer a Jew.

Those are not my standards. My grandmother was an ORthodox Jew and left the faith. My mother and I were not raised as Jews. According to Orthodoxy and even modern Jewry we are still Jews unless we convert to Christianity.

That's speaking from the religious side.

And anyway, the Talmud is wrong on this. The Torah states your Jewishness comes from your father. The Talmud changes this to your mother.

The reason you can tell the rabbis are wrong about Jewishness not being an ethnicity (I didn't say race) is the fact that the Bible lists the Semitic line of ancestry for a reason. My opinion is that G-d wanted to make sure His people knew who were of Jewish blood and those who weren't for whatever reason.


Let me then ask you a question. You say that it is the father's lineage that is important, and yet, Jesus was not the biological son of Joseph and yet it was Joseph's lineage that was traced.

You and I both know that situations occur whereby mothers give birth to children not fathered by their husbands.

The lineage would then break. But if it does - Jesus was never of the house of David. Correct?

But there are women in the ME who are very happy with their lot and believe it is God's Will.

I am leary of World Control by Jewish thought because or its basis in strong Socialism and Communism. Perhaps I feel that way because I am a huge advocate of Capitalism but - to me - communism robs the very soul of a person. Sure - more survive - more have medical care - less starve .... but where is the incentive to better oneself? To achieve? To dream? It is not in Socialism and Communism which dictate that we are all equal in every way.

We are NOT all equal. Some of us work very hard and run businesses. We put extra effort into our work because we can see the difference it makes. And some of us just go out and breed without any regard to the welfare of the children our actions are bringing into this world.

When we visit family in TX - I see such poverty that it is sickening. Houses, no bigger than a single car garage - on rickety stilts, with holes in the roof - and families live there. How sad, I thought. Why don't they move? Why don't they better themselves?

Under a socialistic system - they would leach off of those more productive and have the same possesions and life. Where is the incentive to achieve in that scenario?

I am digressing a bit - but why do you think that a Jewish contoled world would not be violent to non-Jews? Three times as many Palestinians have died since 48' as have Israelis. Three times as many. Israelites have no qualms killing the enemy - but they are much more resourceful when it comes to spin.

While some Jews may have experimented with socialism they are without a doubt the MOST capitalistic people on the face of this Earth. Surely you don’t honestly think modern Jews envisage a communist state ?

I (and any Jews I know) fully support a system that includes incentive. Communism is an abject failure as it fails to take into account basic human nature. Where I (and most Jews I know) also agree is that we must maintain a “safety net” that ensures nobody lives in abject poverty.. does this dilute “incentive” a bit.. does this promote laziness and indolence a bit.. Yep probably but that is was humanity and compassion are all about.

Very few Palestinians who live in Israel get killed. It is only the Arabs who opted out of the UN designated area of Israel under promises from the Arabs that they would push Israel into the sea that have suffered. Palestinians who remained in Israel are “oddly enough” treated just like Jews. In fact they have all the same civil rights as anyone else who lives in Israel.

Arabs who live outside of Israel and continue to attack them and send in terrorists and suicide bombers are retaliated against. Or they have pre-emptive strikes launched against them. I don’t think the Israelis are right here but please tell me what should they do ?? C’mon Cherry you give me a realistic proposal for how Israelis should respond to this issue. How would you Yanks respond ??

Cmon Cherry be realistic. On one hand you state that the majority of Jews are Zionist nationalists who don’t give a shit about religion then you state that Jews are dangerous because their religion allows the killing of non-Jews. Choose an argument you cant have both.

Secondly you make some HUGE leap that because some obscure part of the Talmud does not make killing of non-Jews a crime they will therefore Kill non-jews. Jews have NEVER embarked on any sort of pogrom or racially or religiously motivated attack on other people. They are traditionally tolerant of most lifestyles !

The lineage of Joseph is in Matthew 1. The lineage of Mary is in Luke 3. Notice the two lineages differ, both ending up with a Joseph. But the Joseph of the Luke account is a different person, having a different father. Since women were not included in lineages, the latter Joseph had to be her dad, the last in line of the males in her lineage. Matthew's Joseph goes back to David's son Solomon, whereas Lukes goes back to David's son, Nathan. Note also that Mary is Elizabeth's cousin. Elizabeth was of the daughters of Aaron, implying she might have been of the tribe of Levi. If this be the case, her lineage role might be indicative of Jesus Christ who is not only coming king but our great high priest. Regardless of whether Joseph, the step father of Jesus was his blood father, he being the male would implicate Jesus from David's royal lineage as the Holy Spirit, the real father is not human and the woman Mary could not be king because of gender. Sorry ladies, but that's the way it was. (Thank God, imho.) ;D
