View Full Version : Something I would like to see as a feature

I don't always have the time to read a thread, but occasionally I will find some interesting post, video or whatever that I would like to return to later and read, see, respnd to or otherwise follow-up.

I'd like to be able to flag threads for follow-up (red, gree, yellow, blue) and turn off the flag once I have picked up on it.

Otherwise, many interesting threads might just scroll off the top of the board and be forgotten. Maybe there exists some other feature that accomplishes this functionality, but the nearest thing I've found is subscribing to the thread. However, that is not something I would necessarily want to do since it might tend to fill up my inbox with all sorts of unwanted messages.

Good idea.

I would like to see the flashing, and moving icons removed, and replace with three non-moving icons, while typing a post. It's very distracting. I've got a real thin piece of cardboard scotch-taped to top of monitor and flip it down, while typing.

I agree w/Laz!!!!!!
I'd like a lil box in the corner that tells me when someone has "quoted" me so I can go check out their response

Not bad ideas - let me see what's available mod-wise and see what we can do.

YOu mean the smilies? Mine are on the side, not on top. NO distraction for me, though.

Alot of times so many new threads start up and fill a page, the one you wanted to remember end up pages back in a short time.

Good idea.

I've been using the email feature so when there's a response I'm notified. But even that can fill up in a few hours.

YES, and my smilies are on the right, and three are moving. My suggestion was for ME. However, maybe they are distracting to me, because I have this strange normal condition called peripheral vision? :)

I have great peripheral vision that I utilize when driving, especially watching for the camouflaged deer ready to run from the bushes and trees into the road.

But when concentrating, I'm good at tunnel vision, I have the ability to block all but the target out.

Willpower. :D

SOoo.. you have the means for good tunnel vision, which is fine with me, eh. I like to think outside the box. :D

I think women have a natural ability to compartmentalize. Studies show we are better at multitasking then men as a rule.

One needs to shut each thing down as we move from one thing to another and back.

I like to think outside the box too, but I've learned to tunnel vision it, too.

Now that you've pointed it out, I've been noticing it more, but I really don;t want to.

Kinda like hearing a song that you hate and you find yourself singing it for the rest of the day.

Thanks a lot. :p

Just thinking, maybe it's because I have a very large montor?

Maybe. I've got a 19" Sony flatscreen. I've got a 4" wide cardboard cut from the back of a note pad, taped and the top and I just flip it down over the right side when posting. :p

Related to what's been asked for is a feature from a board I used to belong to. When logging back on the next day, I could click a link and that would show me the active threads from my last logon. Is there a way to do that here?

Yes, I thought about the subscribing feature but I get enough email! :D
