I don't see Uriah Heep on either of your lists. What's up with that?

Top,

I never really got into them but I just now remembered to include

The Neville Brothers

I was just hoping I could make one of you jokers feel guilty and add them to your list so I wouldn't have to generate an entire list of my own. Obviously, that's not going to happen.

You have some good bands on there, but there are definitely some missing.

Let's see...

Jethro Tull

Uriah Heep

Three Dog Night

Cream

Traffic

Blind Faith

I know the last 3 didn't do much, but what they did was great. I'll think of some others.

I have no problem with any of the bands listed as they are all my favorite...but...what about

Steppenwolf and Spirit?

I was trying not to be a thread-hog. ;D

I thought about a seperate thread for this, but maybe we could just incorporate it into this one...Who do you think were the most underrated and overrated bands?

My votes:
Most Underrated: Rare Earth
Most Overrated: The Doors (sorry, PF)

Montrose

Crazy Horse

Camel

UFO

Gov't Mule

Thunder Bay

Pink Floyd, of course.

Black Sabbath

Creedence

Others to follow.

Under: Mannfred Mann
Over: Grateful Dead

Procol Harem was cool; never cared for J Geils at all.
Stones had no talent but great timing. I've got a Camel album but I don't remember why. ;D

Did you mean Neils Crazy Horse or some other band? ???

Satan

WOW!! Blind Faith, Spirit, Uriah Heep, Montrose, Nazareth, Rare Earth, UFO, DC5, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Procul Harum??????

nice to see you guys listen to some good stuff!!

Uriah Heep is one of my all time favorite bands. seen 'em twice back in the early 70's.

Grand Funk is another all time fave. saw them in '72 and 96'. BOTH great concerts.

the Blind Faith album is a CLASSIC - PERIOD!!!!!

other underated/overlooked stuff I like is "Nazz", Todd Rundgren's first band. especially their 2nd album, "Nazz Nazz"!

two of my favorite albums that i like i recently got on CD:
"Ursa Major" from 1972 and "Aorta" from 1969. not too many people know about or have heard these albums, but man they are great.

another pretty much unknown band that is one of my favorites is "Crack the Sky". they had a whole bunch of albums out in the 70's that no one ever heard. i probably saw them live about 5 or 6 times back then. very much influened by the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Procul Harum.

and how can anyone leave early "Chicago" off the list?? the "Chicago Transit Authority" album is probably my 2nd favorite album after "Revolver". II and III are both great albums too.

STILL the all time greatest band -- The Beatles!!!

they are even my 17 year old son's favorite group. we were sittiing out on the front porch last night relaxing and listening to music and he just kept playing Beatles CDs.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts

The Sex Pistols

The Ramones

The Clash

Joan Jett and Deborah Harry were two of my first rock & roll crushes. My biggest and still ongoing crush happened when I discovered The Cure, Robert Smith is still the hottest men I've ever seen on stage.

The Ramones

I also like Lords of Acid, Dead Can Dance, The Cocteau Twins, Rage Against the Machines, Inkubus Suckkubus, Ministry, The Waitresses, The Go-Gos (because Belinda Carlisle proved that chubby girls can be sexy too) and Pat Benetar (oooh she was a sexy one too).
