I've been reading this forum for a while, and I think you have some very bright posters here. There are also some who only think they are bright. I am one of those people who believes in very a limited Federal Government. Unfortunately, the one we have now wastes and steals too much money, and usurps too much power from it's citizens.

I hope to be able to contribute some useful discussion to the board.

There are those here who think we need a nanny gov't, some like you (and I) who want smaller gov't.

Welcome.

Thanks bib. It is difficult for me to understand those adults who would want the corrupt cloistered denizens of Washington, to direct their lives, and provide what sustenance they may receive. Children are happy with such an arrangement, up to a point. Adult just aren't.

WAs speaking of this on another board, in re an email I rec'd from a lib friend. The link was moveon.org, and was propounding how we are all too stupid to decide our own lives, risks, etc., and need the acadamia and elite to decide for us.

Of course, tongue in cheek, I replied that libs really do need nanny gov't to decide how they live, how to raise their kids, what "values" their kids should learn and replace their own brains in the day to day, and as such, she should enjoy the ever rising taxes to pay for those types. :p

But it was not for me. :D

I am often surprised at the huge disconnect in logic and pragmatics of my lib family, friends and associates, (I live in NJ and so we are LOADED w/them), they get up, go to work, strive to acheive, have TRADITIONAL family values and yet, have been convinced that the liberal social policies have ANYTHING in common w/their own.
