Okay, I have a graphic I would like to use. So I resize it to what size maximum? Then once I have accomplished this feat which might take some doing for a non computer geek like myself, how do I get it here in my profile? Better yet who could do this for me???? ;D

I don't know why everyone thinks I can't stand up to His Badness... he and I have differences of opinion which we allow the other to have. Generally not in public for the masses to witness. I must admit it has been a bit unnerving to have it viewed in this way but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

I kept trying tonight, and I finally figured out how to reduce the size of my quilt to avatar size!!!
The quilt started out something like this at photobucket--it's a quilt I made and gave to a wounded American soldier who was injured in Iraq two or three years ago:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c235/bmarsh/StarsandStripsFlag-2.jpg
It could be that since I joined, Photobucket now allows editing of your pictures, and it's free. I edited it, saved it in my pictures, then pulled it up from my computer when the photobucket link failed otherwise. I've been trying to fix this one as my avatar from time to time since at least 2 years ago, when I joined here. (I think that's how long its been, maybe so, maybe almost 2 years(?))
So if you're new to computers, and can't figure everything out in 10 years, it'll eventually happen for you. It really helps to have the speed of cabletv, though. Ours claims it is 15 times faster than DSL. I'm not sure that's still true, though. I'm just a novice computer user, blundering my way from one bit of cyber shibboleth to another... :D

Thanks, Observer. The last thing I did yesterday before coming home was completing another purple heart quilt like this one (except diffrent purple fabric and hearts):
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c235/bmarsh/1-29-08-06JudyJoKellyRuth-Annebecki.jpg?
The one completed yesterday was #7. The quilt covers a regular sized double bed. I have 5 or 6 more to finish for wounded soldiers before I can rest the project, plus I'm doing several red/white/blue quilts on my own, and the next flag needs the fabric "fringe" print border, and it's ready for mounting on the longarm quilter. I'm hoping 2009 will be a good year for our soldiers. They're the only thing good about this effort. Their success and our country's intelligence upgrade stopped terrorists from repeating a 9/11. I think about what the person who will receive the quilt had to go through in therapy and sacrifice to come through his/her wounds inflicted by a highly surreptitious enemy, to receive our nation's Purple Heart medal.
http://www.purpleheart.org/Membership/Images/Logo1.jpg
We sure used a lot of purple fabrics on the purple heart quilts for our wounded.
It's absolutely nothing compared to what our wounded soldiers went through.
