"Hepburn died Sunday at 2:50 p.m. at her home in Old Saybrook with family by her side, said Cynthia McFadden, a friend of Hepburn and executor of her estate. Hepburn, who had been in declining health in recent years, died of old age, McFadden said."

I liked her as Eleanor of Aquitaine in The Lion In Winter.

My God. The world is coming to an end. :(
I liked her in everything. Probably Rooster Cogburn best, though.

My goodness that woman was such a canny, funny survivior. A truly unique character. A soft touch that was a tough professional.
A real star.

I think she was wonderful. She was so opinionated.. always had a laugh and something to say.
Even as a frail old lady with a shaky voice, she was still opinionated.

Kathrine Hepburn is an excellent example that you don't have to be a bitch to be a strong woman. She had both strength and femininity.
I love The African Queen and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.
Rest in Peace.

I was going to post a really good quote of hers, but I couldn't choose just one. :-\
"I never realized until lately that women were supposed to be the inferior sex."
"If you want to sacrifice the admiration of many men for the criticism of one, go ahead, get married."
"Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get - only with what you are expecting to give - which is everything."
"We are taught you must blame your father, your sisters, your brothers, the school, the teachers - but never blame yourself. It's never your fault. But it's always your fault, because if you wanted to change you're the one who has got to change.
"If you obey all the rules you miss all the fun."
"Drive on. We'll sweep up the blood later!"
"Life is hard. After all, it kills you."
"Death will be a great relief. No more interviews."

A life well lived and a personality difficult to forget. A woman ahead of her time. Beautiful, talented, determined and well-loved. She had a character/integrity that is lacking in today's hollywood stars.
She will be missed.
