View Full Version : Guido: A Question
Tell me Guido, I am putting together a budget, and one thing I need to do is move the location of a kitchen sink by about 8 feet. About how much does it cost to do that? The pipes run directly up from the basement through the floor into the kitchen, I guess they'd extend it through the basement and then up through the new spot?

There are quite a few variables involved.........like is the water pipe copper, galvanized or plastic. Is the drainage cast iron, copper or pvc/abs?
Is there a dishwasher conntected to the drainage under the sink?
Is the contractor going to be moving the sink base? or are you hiring a carpenter.......or doing it yourself?
I'll give you a bare minimum estimate. Assuming all I have to do is move the plumbing 8' .........and the drains are pvc and the water pipe copper:
I'd say just for that you'd be looking between 3 and 4 hundred dollars labor and material.
reinstalling the sink with new waste and supply lines add another 100.
Thanks for the info. I had no idea if this sort of thing costs hundreds or thousands.

Tell you what, Voxo.........if somebody gives you a bid for "thousands"............let me know.
You can fly me there, pay for my hotel, and I'll still do it for "hundreds"
;D
