Excerpt: Now a team of American scientists note that recent astrophysical discoveries suggest that we should find ourselves in the midst of one or more extraterrestrial civilizations. Moreover, they argue it is a mistake to reject all UFO reports since some evidence for the theoretically-predicted extraterrestrial visitors might just be found there.

The researchers make their proposal in the January/February 2005 issue of the Journal of the British Interplanetary Society (JBIS) . . .

"We are in the curious situation today that our best modern physics and astrophysics theories predict that we should be experiencing extraterrestrial visitation, yet any possible evidence of such lurking in the UFO phenomenon is scoffed at within our scientific community," contends astrophysicist Bernard Haisch. Space is huge.

The odds are we aren't alone in all of this.

Whether there will ever be contact is quite another thing. ;D

Those "Odds" are greatly reduced if one views the Universe from a "creation" standpoint. Unless you are a Mormon, then it grows dramatically. :P

No silly, it seems to me that if a Mormon can become a god and have children on thier own planet, it would be a valid argument for other life in the "Universes"...would'nt you?

Very BIG place.

And at the speeds we can travel, even with the fastest rockets, you'd be long dead and turned to dust before you got to the next planet.

But then, a hundred years ago, humans did not know about nuclear energy. -- So maybe there is a way to travel near the speed of light? Even though Relativity says it is not possible? -- If we can go at the speed of light, time would stop for us, so when you get off the USS Genesis on the next planet, you'd be no older than when you left a million years ago.

The only way we will "escape" from this little blue rock is if we discover light-speed propulsion to the 1000th power or dimensional travel.

That is all. Get some popcorn, a coke, relax and watch the show. You ain't going anywhere.
