Yukon many men died in Vietnam who are members of my beloved country and my beloved Corp. These men did not die in vain because they fought when the country called them. The went and fought against communism but our higher up military leaders along with the pentagon did not provide the type of support our guys needed. They should have wiped out the north with bombing and retained experienced people with a stop loss which would have also kept the same men who trained together together for combat. Our guys now will fight this war with the soldiers interests at heart unlike what our pencil pushers did for our soldiers in vietnam.

getcarlo you need to debate son not just hurl insults at this man. Thats what he likes and it feeds him. Argue your fine points or dont say anything especially to him as he has been on your case. he will reply with the usual statements of how he wants you to suffer from aids and all that. son I think you are headin' down the wrong path in life and one of my favorite games as a mini mancow was smear the queer. But I still do not want to see you egg this guy on only for him to wish harmful and hateful stuff on you and I have to read his replies.

Hey yuck-on, nice picture of your self you have posted under your name. How does a 12 year old grow such a scraggledy beard??? Must be all the in-breeding. By the way, you did'nt answer, do you swallow?? Just wonderin.
I oppose war in the middle-east because of the war in Vietnam - which I participated in and we lost, we all lost
That is ranking right up there as one of the most inane things you've ever posted. The two wars have nothing to do with each other. Nam was 20 years ago and in a different part of the world.
If you are old enough to have participated in the Vietnam war then you are older than I am. That fact would make your infantile behavior all the more pathetic. For a middle-aged man to behave the way you do there must be something seriously wrong with you.
Giancarlo,
Stop picking at Yukonn; it will never heal if you keep that up.

There is no reason behind the Shrub's hatred of Iraq. He wants the oil and he wants to deflect us from his failure to get Bin Laden. Will 58K die in Iraq as did in Vietnam ? Will we lose as we did in Vietnam ? How many Americans will die ?

Your question is worthy of an answer however I dont think you would understand it due to the complexity of the issues. But yes...oil is the reason the Shrub wants to attack Iraq - no other reason.

Sheesh, Thales, you are much too logical for this room. ::)
You don't expect that those who oppose the war on trumped up grounds like "France needs Iraq's oil (translation, 'It's about the oil)" will also be able to translate that paradigm of American restraint, do you? For if they do, then it must mean that from the American perspective, it is not about the oil, but about the principles--turning back Iraqi aggression: enforcing the will of the U.N. Security Council, etc.
And it would lay bare and open that with France, for example, it is about the oil and continuing to do prohibitied business with Saddam's regime.

Thales: How come we didn't take the oil the last time we kicked their asses?
LaL: Damn, you should learn history. We did not kick their ass in the Gulf war. All we did was run them out of Kuwait.
The truth was, if you can stand the truth, our army generals screwed up big time under Daddy Bush. They decided to build up our forces fast and light for the Gulf war,and some REPUBLICAN (dim bulb) general said, we are going to fight in the desert, so our combat engineers won't need to take their heavy bridge building stuff with them.
Then the competent Air Force generals blew up every bridge over the Tigress and Euphrates rivers. So when it came time to get our army across those rivers, they could not cross that "bridge"when they came to it, because they left their bridges at home.
So since Daddy Bush, who approved the stupid plan to leave the bridges in America, simply declared victory and came home, leaving the job undone.

LaL: I suppose to you kids who did not go through the Depression, it seems absurd to think a nation can go belley up; but the truth is this is precisley how the Communists have taken over all 22 governments they now own.
The last I heard, our National Debt was over six trillion, and the last time I heard what the debt is was back in about 1995. Now, the Debt seems to be some kind of national secret, and all we even get told is some run around called the defecit.
26 billion to the Turkies in the original deal, and now another 15 Billion, and we have no idea how many other bribes we spent to try to get the world on our side and failed, 100-200 Billion to fight the war, (current conservative estimate), and who knows what the domestic defecit is? Bush won't tell us how damn much money he has spent, that he does not have, since 9-11.
Sure, since we went off the gold standard, our governemnt can print up all the money it wants, and that is exactly what they have been doing to cover all those Republican tax cuts (theft from government treasury to Republicans) and homeland security and war spending. But there comes a time when nobody is gong to take those green dollars anymore than they now take Confederate dollars, or Hitler's German marks, or Czar Nick's worthless money.
And it was a simple skirmish with Japan, with no spoils of war to offset the cost, that was the last straw which bankrupted the Czar's Russia.
We are in deep trouble, just look at the DOW. But what the hell, if it makes you feelo good to kill somebody, go to war and fall on your own sword.
You can keep saying that people are anxious for war or jumping at the chance to kill people but that doesn't make it true. You are beginning to appear dangerously paranoid.
The country did not go belly up during the depression. Industry continued and we only suffered a temporary depression no matter how severe it was. It was not the end of the world nor the end of our country. It was also mostly going to war which ended the depression.
The national debt has not gone away, the budget has not been balanced and life in the USA goes on as it always has. You are hardly the first to suggest that we are on the brink of utter chaos and destruction. Nutballs like you have been predicting that for decades. None of them have been right so far. Join the ranks of people who are foolishly prognosticating a dire future that can't and won't happen. We are in trouble in some ways but not in the ways your paranoid delusions suggest. Your overactive imagination must keep you up nights thinking there are monsters under your bed.

OAG: It was also mostly going to war which ended the depression.
LaL: It was the US spoils of war that got us well. No country profited from WW II more than the USA, no country profited more and lost less. Compare our number of dead to the other countries.
We are/were a stong country, we can afford some Debt, much of which was acquired as a result of the Vietnam war and its aftermath. It was a war from which we recieved no spoils, because we lost it.
22 countries have gone bankrupt and were taken over by the Communists. But go ahead, bury your head in the sand, and say it sn'[t so. Just be sure to drop your pants before you bend over so the Bolsehviks can have fun when you don't see them cuming.

Your cluelesness about how money works in this country is truly bottomless. The great depression was not the USA going belly up. Industry continued, imports and exports continues. The people who were ruined were those in debt up to their eyeballs. They couldn't make the margin call so to speak. Those that could continued on with their daily routines, conducted business as usual, and America remained free of communism and eventually recovered.
That you don't seem to have any idea what the national debt represents nor what the deficit actally is makes you pretty unqualified to comment on either.
Your last little dig about it making me feel good to kill doesn't really deserve a response but I must say that for someone several years my senior your childishness comes quite naturally and bears a striking resemblence to the behavior of my 11 year old.
