I don't like either plan, frankly. And although the article vaugly discusses there not being enough office space, from what I can garner, there will be significantly less office space than before. I know the Port Authority of NY and NJ owns the site, but who were the lease holders, the Property Managers? Anyone know? I wonder if that same company or companies will take over again.

the top one would make the skyline look better. It's not as overpowering as the bottom one.

If I absolutely HAD to choose one of those, I would choose that one too, but I would hope it's not as white in reality. I think it looks too delicate that way. A building that big should look strong, especially considering where it's going to stand, and what it's supposed to replace and represent.

That bottom one is about as ugly as the Eiffel Tower. Not many Parisians like the Eiffel Tower, and I think even fewer New Yorkers will like that monstrosity.

Why not just put actual buildings on the site?

That's what I mean, with office space. By the time they get it built, the market should have turned around...I hope. :D

I think they want to avoid the amount of congestion (an dpossible loss of life-if they go after it again) that the old WTC had.

I guess they took into account the loss of revenue from the decreased office space versus the ability to get people out in case of an emergency.

That, and according to the article-53% of people polled said they would not want to work in some of the tallest levels. So, both plans had recreational areas at the highest levels. However-it said they are going to work on the office space issue.

I dunno about you-but I wouldn't want to work on the 120th story of any building. Sending a sign to terrorists or not-no way!

That's why I like the first idea-much better.

No the original building weren't that pretty, but they weren't supposed to be.

Why bother rebuilding it the fucking Arabs will probably just blow it up again.

They will rebuild with the hopes that when you grow up and get a job, you will be relocated into one of the new buildings...and then it won't be a TOTAL loss if it's targeted again.

That was a terrible thing to say about me. Terrible...

I say this image with a different angle in the Miami Herald. Here would be my basic idea...

The new WTC would consist of four towers interconnected up to the 20th floor, but separated above that point. There would also be a 15 story hotel in front if the towers. It would look something like this...

______
| |
| |
| |
TOWER 2
| |
| |
______ | | ______ ______
| | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | |
TOWER 1 | | TOWER 3 TOWER 4
| | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | |
| |--| |--| |--| |
| |
|______________________ |
| | |
| HOTEL | |
| | |
|______________________|_______|

Not exactly to scale... ;D

No, I don't like your sig line at all squidward. When I told Singer off at NM I said "Contrary to popular belief the center of the UNIVERSE doesn't run up your asshole." I never said earth.

I also think it's in bad taste to call a moderator a 'pushy twerp.'

So no the local Queen Bitch doesn't like your sig line.

I fixed that like a month ago. It was a mistake - ask Suth, who pointed it out to me. You're bent out of shape about THAT??

I also think it's in bad taste to call a moderator a 'pushy twerp.'

Of course it is. Isn't that what this place is all about? :D

So no the local Queen Bitch doesn't like your sig line.

By local Queen Bitch I meant jeny. It's what I used to call Wendy occasionally at NM. Are you contesting jeny's authority? :D

I always thought I was your Queen Bitch? Now you've hurt my feelings Squidward. First you call Jeny a push twerp and now this. You're trying to contest badnews as Resident Ass.

I reserve that term for moderatrixes and admistratrixes. When they set up a porn forum, you can be Queen Bitch of that, I guess. :)

Oh, please. He's fallen to rack and ruin since his halcyon days at the Max. I, OTOH, had six pages dedicated to showing me up as an idiot last month. I am the reigning champion of lovable obnoxiousness. 8)

Well porn may be a fascinating subject, but I am interested in lots of things.
