Supermod Version 3.0.0 was installed.....

So what does this mean to little ol me?

I said in a very crowded elevator, "we have supermod version 3.0.0" and I have to tell you it got very little reaction.

If it's like the other updates, it adds a lot of useless features without fixing anything that was wrong with the old installation. ;)

I wonder if the "helpful admin things" will enable the admins to determine the number of socks each poster has based on IP assignment. I can't wait for that day when one of the Admin announces that I have ONE. I think I may pop open a bottle of bubbles for that one...Since I have asked for this determination to no avail....

Annie: You are indeed correct. No duplicate IPs that I can tell.

As to what was delivered in this release, the list is right here: http://www.supermod.org/community/UpdateHistory.txt

A lot of what was delivered in this release was bug fixes. Annoying little problems that did not necessarily kill the board, but made weird things happen. This board evolved from the old YABB/SE software and when the developers "abandoned" that platform, they left a very popular system...but one with a fair amount of bugs that needed fixing. Wiz and his crew have pretty much swatted the worst bugs and removed old dead code (stuff that never executes, just slows the board down) to make things run faster.

Wrong. It means that the IP assigned to my computer is not being used by another identity on the board. This means that in order for me to have another sock I would have to change annie to something else....this would be found out if checked. Let's face it...this means I have not been playing the games I have been accused of since day one....

No, it doesn't. I regularly post here from two different IP addresses. If I had registered a different username on the second IP, I could quite easily post here simultaneously as two 'different' people. Just because you don't seem to understand how it works doesn't mean it isn't possible to do it.

Sky...in order to obtain a different IP I would have to use a different computer AND have another ISP and that I don't have. Direcway issues ONE IP to me for my use on multiple computers. You have two computers at work, on one you use a anonymous proxy, on the other you don't which gives you the separate ip's. You know how to do this stuff, right?

I post from several different IPs under the name Suth. It just depends on which computer I'm using. It wouldn't be difficult to use a different name from each IP. I just don't bother because I have enough trouble remembering who I am without trying to keep up with personas. ;)

Besides, most people don't have static IPs anyway. It doesn't take much to be anonymous.
