It is now taking minutes rather than seconds to load pages.

Is the new software optimized?

Laz: Actually the forum should be faster. A lot of dead code from the legacy YABBSE system was removed between 2.5.0 and 3.0.0; I am seeing no slowdown on my connection, but that's just me.

Anyone else?

Works lickey split when it works. I blame all my time outs on my POS cheap bastard ISP guy in Texas that's trying to cut corners with a cheapo server.

Laz: I think what the problem was that there was a message at the top of each template that shows "users in the chat room". On some systems and firewall configurations, I have seen this thing slower than...well...beats me.

I turned it off about that time, so I would guess that is your problem.

The Supermod Team did a heck of a job on this release, the system has been cleaned up and should be stronger, better, faster, able to leap over...WHOOOPS...wrong advert.

I don't know what the problem was, but I would get the top part of the page--from the "News:" item up, but I could be sitting there on that part for up to 30 minutes before I'd see the rest of it.

I saw those "Chat Room" messages, on the top part. Now, its gone, so maybe.

Its been fine since then. :)

Problems connecting, viewing, and posting in the last few days.

No such problems with any other site, though.

Everyso often it's sluggish, no ryhme or reason.

But never in minutes, still in seconds when it loads. Sometimes it just seems like it freezes trying to get on.

Has that problem a few minutes ago, but is quickly disappeared.

This YABBSE thing has a lot of weird ticks and eccentricities, i find.....

Every so often I try to pull up the next page and it just lays there like lame goose egg. :o

For example, mere moments ago, I received this message...

"Page created in 81.523 seconds."

Page created in 0.48 seconds.

I have noticed when the search function is being used, it does slow the forum down.

Lately, again, I have been experience long page creation times....

Plus the occasional "server busy" white screen because it is so slow that the server has timed out.

Someone must have dumped too much information into the series of tubes that make up the internet.

I am quoting from the bottom of this forum's pages--not the amount of time it takes to traverse the 'net.

Brandon,

You are not nearly as smart as you think you are.

Regards.
