paraphrasing what the President said in his address on Saturday:
"... although none of those brave people made it back to earth, I know that all of them made it home."

Not bad. Usatoday (today) had a similar one:

Those are nice, but did anyone stop to think that one of the crew aboard the Columbia was an immigrant from India? (I did notice the Star of David for the Israeli in the one cartoon.)
While I do not know if she was Christian or not, it is at least a 50-50 shot that she is not.
Sad in any event. Perhaps the best thing of it all is that the pilot in me knows they literally had no time to feel a thing. It was about as quick and painless as it probably gets.
Many religious people, myself included, think that God cares not what you call yourself, or what you call Him, even if you don't at all, but how you lived your life.
I think the cartoon reflects that train of thought.

i kinda look at it as since she emigrated here from India she now considered herself an American. therefore 6 stars (as in the "star and stripes) and one star of David (as is on the Israeli flag). just my observation.

FWIW, I did run across this on a news site. She is/was Hindu.

The artist draws the cartoon from his perspective...not from the perspective of the "target".
