The problem I have with abortion is this. I happen to be a fetus. I am a full grown fetus who happens to live outside the womb. I have escaped the nazi practice of abortion and am not in danger of it anymore. Now as I walk down the street say a thug tries to make an incision in the back of my neck and suck my brains out. Unlike the unborn fetus I as a full grown adult born fetus can stick my glock in the bastard's face. If he is not smart enough to run and still tries to abort me I will put a hole in him the size of a grapefruit. The unborn fetus is not that fortunate. He is too little to protect himself. Attacking the weak and innocent is something I can't handle.
ABORTION is legal and for women that's a GOOD THING !

why is it that men who are pro"choice" never say what they really feel which is that abortion is good for men because they can have sex without consequence of having to take responsibility for the little squirt and the mother...they say things like "well, after all IT IS A WOMEN'S BODY...or IT'S LEGAL BECAUSE IT NEEDS TO BE FOR THE GOOD OF A HEALTHY SOCIETY or whatever.....
Let's face it, abortion was the best thing that happened to a man's sex life since sliced bread....
LUCYBABE,
If you get knocked up that's your fucking problem. We men have legalized abortion so bimbo's like you have a choice - get rid of the fetal tissue or carry the little bastard to-term the choice is your's.

I'll keep this in mind...
Yukon.
You really should try writing poetry. I think you may find the endeavor richly rewardling....

Lucy, I'm not sure if his brain functions at the level required to detect feelings.

Yet, even this is changing.
.....with the diminishing of the value of preborn, unborn life came the experimentation.
.... with the feminist movement came the (relative) elimination of workplace discrimination.
In the old days, the nuclear family relied on men to bring home the bread, the woman was mother and homeaker.
Now, women are homemaker, mother AND breadwinner.
The absolute need for a man's familial contribution has been sublimated, as can be seen from the proliferation of single mothers from ther generational welfare constructs to the fabulously rich movie star types ... and many others in between .... who elect (or get stuck with) single mother/head of household status.
In any event, all a woman requires to have a family is a moment or two of a fellows time .... the same dumb fellow who thinks it's in HIS best interest to be able to get off the hook.
Men who are "for" abortion are unwittingly contributing to the continued and prevalence of men/father/familial/ relevance in our society and culture.
For the first time in human history women really don;t NEED men to have a family .... for men, the converse is not true.
They may be shooting their "pistols" more regularly, but with this type of attitude, they are shooting themselves in the foot.
For good or evil ... men are risking irrelevance.

fantastic post, Bib.
Bless your heart!
For good or evil ... men are risking irrelevance.
I knew it! All we are to you women is walking sex toys...and not very good ones at that according to a national poll...75 % of all men reach ejaculation in under 2 minutes, which means only 25 % of the rest of us will ring your bells, or in other words, in other words, 75 % of us will leave you frustrated and cranky.
Get used to it.

Wth tbose statistics, I'm going to try to stay married.........
My problem with abortion is that it removes a huge level of personal responsibility. I'm pro-choice, but you make your choice when you decide to have sex. I don't know many adults who are unaware of how babies are made. If you decide to take that chance then you should be willing to deal with the consequences. I believe it is the height of selfishness to expect an unborn child to bear the brunt of responsibility for your actions.

Despite the opinions of some, I have nothing I wish to add to this topic at this time.
I agree that women should have the right to determibe if their bodies will be used to propagate the species.

At what trimester? You sound like you would advocate it during all three. Would this also apply to a baby outside the womb, for say five seconds? Why or why not? What about deciding not to have kids before getting pregnant?
RW, don't bother with bluebird/Yukon.

There are a couple issues that bother me greatly about abortions.
1. Women claim that pro-choice is the way to go. However, each child has 2 parents. How is it that one parent's opinion becomes irrelevant because he is not carrying the child?
2. Most of the legal issues surrounding abortion are determined by men. How is it that men should be making the decisions about what is right about a woman's body?
Now I realize these two questions almost contradict each other. That, I suppose , is because i simply do not have a very concrete idea of what my opinion on abortion is. I have mixed emotions about it. While I do beleive that women shold be able to chose what is right for their bodies, it frightens me that there is a possibility that terminating a human life could be looked upon lightly.
