You know about the stages of grief, right...? Well, I am possibly in the anger phase after the shock and disbelief wear off.....

No. That would be irrational. You'd have to believe that God knew the Shuttle would break up on reentry and just ignored the situation.

I'm pissed off at the Congress and their constant budget battles....their inability to see the big picture and their complete willingness to allow an overbloated bureaucracy to keep operating with no apparent defined mission and massive cost overruns.

And when you have paid as much taxes as I have WITHOUT COMPLAINING, and without trying to steal from the poor to give to the rich, then we will talk about Republican greed.

I suppose my anger is unfortunately one of the more free-floating, and therefore, odious forms....

LaL: No need to apologize. Anger is an honest human emotion, but be advised it is a secondary emotion. The primary emotion is fear. So where do you think the fear comes from?

I am afraid of heights. I almost had to be airlifted off of Pisa (back when you could still manage to slide up and down the thing).....

I cannot even begin to imagine the kind of bravery these pilots have....

(I did learn flying before I had to stop lessons due to pregnancy, but that was out of a need to land the plane in case something happened to my husband, the pilot...)

Fear is usually of the unknown.

We often react quite differently when confronted with the reality of a situation....sometimes we surprise ourselves....

LaL: I was a navigator, but the President of the oil company I was Secretary/Treasurer of made me learn to take the controls and shoot some low approaches, in case he had the big one up there. He alread had one heart attack. We flew together in his private plane a lot.

Wayne was the best friend I ever had., very smart man, a "Rambling Wreck from Georga Tech, and a heck of an engineer." -- I miss him. He had the big one in Kentucky on his way home to North Carolina to see his wife of fourty years. He had been renting a room in my basement so he could take care of the sale of the Beta Oil company. Jeez, that seems like a long time ago. He died the same day they burned the Wacko from Waco.
