Find a bird with the shortest lifespan possible.

Get a canary and get a male. They sing like you would not believe. It's nice seeing snow out my window and hearing a canary singing...makes me feel like its spring.

ROFLMAO!

Years ago, my Mom decided she wanted a cockatiel. So, I went down to the pet store and got her a Lutino Cockatiel that she named tweedledum. About 8 years later, she moved to NY and decided it would be too stressful for the bird to make the move...so I "inherited" the little bastard. Tweedledum is now 21 years old. When tweedle is in a good mood (15% of the time) he whistles sweet little songs and is a very charming bird. The rest of the time he's like a 4 year old throwing a hissy fit. He also has an annoying habit of waiting until I'm on the phone...then letting loose with a long string of wolf whistles. ::)

I had an African Grey once. His name was "Gripper." Laziest bird I ever did see. Wouldn't even bite with any force. The reason he was called "Gripper" is because his "grip" was so pussy boy, you thought he was gonna fall off from your finger when you held him. Never made a sound.

On the other hand, you want sound? :o Get a Muloccan Cockatoo. When they get in a good mood, they really sound off.

The rest of the time, they just sit there on their perches eating and shitting while preening their feathers that are full of this waxey substance when they preen turns to a fine dust that gets over everything in your house.

Plus, if they get pissed off, they can lop off a finger with their beaks. I got bit by Rocky (that was my cockatoo's name) on the arm and he hit a nerve. That was 20 years ago and the sumbitch still hurts.

My buddy's African Grey sings and talks all the time, and I think with kids, a soft biting bird might be a good idea.

The african Grey are the BEST talkers if you talk to bird experts. They are very smart birds...facinating. When I stop swearing around the house I may get one.... ;D

No hooked billed bird that is a "talker" is a "soft biting bird." They are all capable of biting the bejesus out of you. The hand-raised ones are better at it, but if they get scared/pissed, they're gonna let you know the only way they know how. Some of the worst bites I've ever had was from a friggin parokeet. ::) Them sumbitches can bite HARD!!

Buy one at the taxidermist. ;D

No feeding, no watering, no excess noise, no tons of shit to clean up. Just take it out and dust it once in a while.

I've never been into birds as pets. My parents had some kind of little freaky thing for years (my dad just loved it). I thought it was annoying and definitely far from cute. ::)

Please.....you're depressing me. I was under the (mistaken) impression that they only live 10-15 years. After it was too late....I found they can live to 30.

This bird looks the same today as he did 15 years ago. He's going to be with me forever.....evil never dies.

He can't be that bad... ;D

I had a conure or what ever it's called....they are kinda mean. Anyway I was trying to put a hood over his head to take him to the vet. He ended up getting out and was dive bombing my head all over the house as I was screaming. I locked myself in my room and had to call someone for help. I still like birds...I just have smaller ones now.

See? Even birds hate Annie.

Subject: Martha Stewart
Tim Allen, comedian, had this to say about Martha Stewart:

"Boy, I feel safer now that she's behind bars. O.J. & Kobe are walking around, but they take the one woman in America willing to cook and clean and work in the yard and they haul her ass off to jail."

Yeah, but what's with the Rosemary sprigs? Looks?

I'm probably one of the few humans on earth that like the taste of uncooked Rosemary.

My Uncle had a chain of pet stores when I was growing up. He used to pay me to clean the small animal cages on Saturday mornings in one of his stores. They had a parrot named Crackers that had the dirtiest mouth you could imagine. The previous owners said that Crackers showed up by the door one morning, no note, no nothing, just Crackers in a cage with his foul mouth (errr..beak) In the small animal room, as I would clean diligently all the while listening to that smart ass bird say things like, "shit on a brick!" and "fuckin' A!" and "kiss my butt" and "you suck" He was just lovely. ::) I'm sure he's still there, who would want him?

There was also a myna bird named "black" (very original) who also came with the store and is probably still there. The myna used to meow and bark like the animals in the small animal room. :)
