Military investigators have re-opened the case of U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Wassef Hassoun after several personal items -- including his military ID and civilian passport -- were found in Falluja, the city where he disappeared in June.
Hassoun reappeared July 7 in Lebanon, where he was born and has relatives.

BITE me. I am past being "suspicious".
I have entered the phase of vindictive hunt-down-and-kill-it regarding this dude.
FARGIN CIVILIAN FARGIN PASSPORT?????? in a combat zone????
No way, Jose.
There is NO WAY that is straight-arrow.
No way atall, atall.
He needs a few decades in the crossbar hotel. In Kansas.

I remember this story; the whole thing stunk back in July. He, aided by family members in the US and Lebanon, staged a kidnapping in the hopes of deserting with no consequences.

Perhaps its time for him to go back to Lebanon after he spends some time in military jail. I hear Lebanon is really nice though, someone said its like Hawaii only with terrorism. Tourism Terrorism whats the diff?
Lebanese have a history about Marines in barracks. Let's put that Marine in a barrack in Lebanon.
