View Full Version : Protesting Falluja
What I think:
There are over 10,000 ground forces presently engaged in battle with insurgents and all of our hopes/prayers/best wishes are going out to them right now. They didn't ask to be there, but they aren't complaining about it, either.
I think anyone on this board that even gives a FUCKING hint of glee in their posts at the deaths of any of our troops during this "exercise" should be immediately banned from this board.
You know who you are that do this and we know who you are.
It is time to band together and get the job done. Any negativism and suggestions of failure should not be tolerated and your membership should immediately be revoked.
IMHO.

Amen, badnews! Amen!
I've always wanted such lines to be drawn here. Some of the best young men in the world are are in the process of ENDING the rule of the cut-throats in Fallujah, and only the greatest praise and concern should be directed at them.

You are on the mod team am I right badnews? I think so too. The troops over there deserve nothing more then praise. And so far they have killed 42 of those fucking terrorists.

Yes, of course I'm on the Mod Team...and let me tell you the absolute incredible power I have being the Moderator of the Food Forum...

I have several (at least three) of my former students fighting in Falluja today, at least I assume that is where they are. I know their units and where they were stationed in Iraq, but they weren't able to actually email me and tell me what they were doing. I want them to be successful in what they do, but most of all I want them to be safe.
That being said I wonder what the end result of this operation will be. I have no doubt that we will 'liberate' Falluja, but will that end the problem? If this isn't a real insurgency, as has been suggested by some of the folks here, this action could bring to an end this kind of problem in Iraq. If, on the other hand it is a real viable insurgency our victory in Falluja won't mean a whole lot. The insurgency will just move to another area where it will again grow and fester. If this is a real insurgency the only way to defeat it will be to turn the Iraqis against it, and you can't do that using military means.

Not even Iraq's own military?
Why not just surrender to the insurgents and get it over with?

Fallujah is the beginning of the end of terrorism in Iraq. By no means will this battle finish it off, but it will push it towards a slow death.

I can understand where Badnews is coming from here. And I tend to agree...we can debate the policy, reasons for war, et al, all we want...but to deliberately wish for American casualties is rather beyond the pale. It is dispicable.
Having said that...where would you rather the cockroaches be? In front of you in the light or scuttling around in the dark?

I agree.
I have a friend over there right now. I hope he returns safely. He has a wife and a two year old waiting for him.
I hope everyone of those towel wrapped terrorists gets a quick trip to allah. I have a feeling though, that Zarqawi is gone. Melted away to somewhere else.
I hope I'm wrong. I hope to see his bullet riddled body on a slab.

Since our every move is BROACASTED for the world to see weeks in advance. I'd be real surprised if he is still there. I mean do we have to say what we plan to do on the news day in and day out? Can't there be a surprise element? This is no secret we were going in and when/how being discussed over here 24/7......uggghhh

Holly thinks Zarqawi is an invention by The Great Satan to use an excuse to destroy Islam. She doesn't even think he exists.

THAT IS A LIE!!
I never said he didn't exsist. I said that MSNBC reported that he was KILLED (you know...DEAD), back in March of 2004.

I don't want to banter back and forth with semantics, darling, but doesn't "DEAD" mean doesn't exist? :o :o

Yes actually, even though he is dead, he still exsists in the minds of the fools that want us to believe he is commiting all those crimes.
I do believe he exsisted, but he has been dead for 8 months. YOU are using the symantics, not me!
Main Entry: 1dead
Pronunciation: 'ded
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English deed, from Old English dEad; akin to Old Norse dauthr dead, deyja to die, Old High German tOt dead -- more at DIE
1 : deprived of life : having died

Wait. No, I don't! ::)
It seems that "The Lions of the Desert" have tucked tail and run for their lives. ;D

Nope. I'm keeping my wayfarers on so I can keep focused on what is REALLY going on in this world.
